Sleepy Hahas Release Music Video For “Nooses”

Buffalo psych-garage four piece, Sleepy Hahas, have released the latest music video from the quarter’s debut LP, Dull Days.  The clip for “Nooses,” the strongest track from the Dull Days, finds the white clad group being hunted down throughout various locations in Bidwell and Delaware Park by some sort of Grim Reaper. Directed by Quiet Country Audio’s Andy Deluca, the video can be viewed in full below. Also, if you get to tonight’s Man Man show at the Tralf Music Hall  on the early side, you may catch a live version of the track as the Hahas are set to open.

Hooray For Earth – “Keys”

New York psych-electronica band, Hooray For Earth, recently dropped a video for “Keys,” the first single off Racy, their upcoming follow up to 2011’s excellent , True Loves. Featuring crunchy guitar licks,  Wolverine’s motorcycle, and a bike ride through the woods (and warp space), the video, directed by Beau Burrows and Tucker Bliss, is stylish, evocative, and points to big things for Noel Heroux and company, who just announced dates for an August tour. No Buffalo date announced so far, but Hooray For Earth owe WNY a show, and hopes are high for the Fall. Stay tuned. Racy hits stores (and the Interwebs if you like your music in 0 and 1 form) July 29th.

Scope & Figure Debut “Entropy Knows Best” Video

In late June, Rochester-based quartet, Scope  & Figure, released their debut video “Entropy Knows Best.” The video follows lead singer/guitarist, Thomas Varner, having an “oh shit!” moment, running down streets people in Rochester probably know, then arriving late to gig to an empty Bug Jar with only sketchy looking dude in a Carmen Sandiego jacket on. Based on some of my weekday ventures to the Bug Jar, this isn’t that far fetched. The band’s sound is definitely robust, sounding like a jazzy Okkervil River/Beirut hybrid. With plans for a late summer tour, keep Scope & Figure on your radar because they have plans to stop in town.

Jack Topht & Malt Disney Release Video for “Beef on Weck”

Shout out to frequent collaborative duo, Jackt Topht and Malt Disney, for giving Super Flea a proper eulogy. Yes, one of the only places in Buffalo where you could buy a live rabbit, a bong, and a samurai sword all from the same vendor closed up shop for good a few weeks ago, set to be demolished for ANOTHER Walmart. Super Flea held a really weird place in the hearts of many Buffalonians. The place was a dump, smelled awful, and sold some of the more useless items you have ever come across, yet I loved the place, and from the comments on FB during its final weekend, you all did too. The Tins Premiere Music Video For “They Aren’t Evil” Single

Herd Fest act the Tins have announced the release of their latest EP, Young Blame, set to drop on July 29th. The EP is currently available for pre-sale here, but luckily, the band has released the music video for Young Blame‘s first single, “They Aren’t Evil,” earlier today to give us a taste of the new material. The single moves away from some of the more new wave vibes of their last LP, Life’s A Gas, and enters a DOM-like melody territory. If you wish to hear the new tracks before streaming begins on bandcamp, you can help celebrate the release of Young Blame with the trio on Friday, July 11th at Buffalo Iron Works. Aircraft Premieres Video For “Space Euphoria”

Just this morning, Buffalo quartet Aircraft released the new music video for their single “Space Euphoira.” Originally released on a split EP with former Buffalo “it” trio, the Malones, the track will also be included on a future LP from the foursome. As for the Lesionread directed video, which by the way, is one of the best produced local videos that comes to mind, the clip finds the guys traveling the cosmos in a space equipped mystery machine, battling interplanetary villains with surf rock riffs. Keep on the look out for those trademark warped eyes that have become a staple in Lesionread directed videos these days. JOYWAVE Premieres Video For “Tongues”

In April 2013, all-around WNY favorite electro-pop act, JOYWAVE, released the incredibly catchy single “Tongues” featuring a scatted sample Patricia Patrone of KOPPS (both buffaBLOG party artists I might add).  In between locking up their summer on the festival circuit and two opening gigs for the Killers, the band got around to dropping the video for the single, which at the time of this writing, is sitting pretty on the Billboard’s Top 50 Dance Club songs. Dubbed the number one song out of Rochester in 2013 on our top ten count down, “Tongues” has made waves across the blogosphere and eventually demanded the attention of satellite and commercial radio. Watch the boys shoot clothes on naked people below. Oh yeah, probably NSFW unless you have a chill boss.

Led Zeppelin – “Whole Lotta Love”

Led Zeppelin released a new video for an unreleased mix of “Whole Lotta Love” to preview the remixed and remastered editions of their first three albums due next week. While in no way a replacement of the classic album version, the rough mix features the band finding it’s way to rock immortality; some of the pieces are in place, but the sum total of what “Whole Lotta Love” would become is still off in the future. The video is a classic old timey clip fest that attempts to convey something of what the Zeppelin phenomenon was during the 70’s and drum up interest for the new releases. The remastered editions of Led Zeppelin, Led Zeppelin II, and Led Zeppelin III arrive in stores June 4th.

KOOL A.D. – “Word”

It’s not often that you see a rapper release a kind-of X-rated cartoon music video, but that’s exactly what we got from former Das Racist rapper KOOL A.D. this week. The video accompanies the song “Word” off of A.D.’s free project Word O.K. from a couple months back, and is directed by him and animator Teddy O’Connor. It features a dog and his rabbit (maybe?) girlfriend committing lewd acts, running over cops, and watching Guy Fieri freestyles, among many other things. Yeah, it’s probably something you have to watch at least once.  It’s definitely NSFW if you haven’t gathered that, check it out below.

Tijuana Panthers – “Cherry Street”

SoCal garage punk trio, Tijuana Panthers, have made quite the name for themselves since their 2010 inception by routinely delivering high-energy performances ranging from sold-out concert halls to drop ceiling basements shows. Their latest single, “Cherry Street,” off of the upcoming June release Wayne Interest (Innovative Leisure), is a testament to the band’s staying power, both as a group and in your ears. “Cherry Street,” sounds like a mix between melody friendly Thee Oh See’s with early Drums riffs. The video is even more grabbing, highlighting a homicide detective’s appetite for blood and donuts at some vague time period in the 1980s. Check it out below.

RiFF RAFF – “How To Be The Man”

It’s Versace season everybody! Fresh off the announcement that his long-delayed debut album, Neon Icon, will be dropping June 24th, Mad Decent rapper RiFF RAFF provided us with the visuals for “How To Be The Man.” RiFF first dropped this track about 5 months ago, and comparing the size of his dog (Jody Husky) in this video to recent pictures, it looks like this video was recorded a while back as well. Filled with ridiculous pop-up neon graphics, random celebrity shout-outs, and models wearing one-piece bathing suits, it is a uniquely RiFF RAFF experience. Every Time I Die Releases Music Video For “Thirst”

Local hardcore heroes, Every Time I Die, have released the new music video for their track Thirst,” the first single off the band’s forthcoming album, From Parts Unknown, set to drop on July 1st. Clocking in at a breezy 1:49, the video follows two locals up to no good,one of them being Bobby Griffiths, a local drone musician behind projects like VWLS and Low Prospects, over at Spiral Scratch, Holly Farms, the First Ward, and other spots around the Buffalo city area while making their way to an ETID show. Maybe next time they could just take mass transit. Check out the video for “Thirst” below.

Settlers Release Animated Video For “Proskater”

The former Buffalo-bred two-piece turned Portland-based trio, Settlers, released the animated clip for their single “Proskater” last night. Directed by Jack Graydon, the clip shows images of warped wiener dogs, skateboarding hounds, and lots of beer floating towards the viewer over the booming, instrumental surf jam. It’s been a little while since we heard from our favorite former Jungle Gym noise rockers so keep an eye out on both coasts for future updates. Radarada Drops Music Video For “Topanga”

With countless live crowd shots on Youtube, it seemed to be about time that Radarada sat down to release something proper. And just as the hip-hop collective is set to drop its debut EP, First Edition, in early June, an EP tease in the form of the music video for “Topanga” was released this afternoon. Filmed at the Bird Cage, the laid clip features Tommy Too, Little Cake, and the rest of Radarada performing the jazz infused tune. Without a doubt, this is one of the most charismatic acts coming out of Buffalo, and as you may remember, they were one of our five-ish bands to watch in 2014. Jeremy Jermaine Jerome Releases Video for “coexist”

It’s been a while since we last heard from Jeremy Jermaine Jerome, a Carolina-raised, Buffalo-rooted abstract emcee (mostly because he has sworn off any-and-all social media). So with this, we were delighted to receive an e-mail from him this morning  which included a link to his latest music video, “coexist.” The video, much like others in JJJ’s repertoire, is an avant-garde piece layered with Jerome’s hushed staccato rapping . In “coexist,” Jerome proves once again his divergent performance art and poems are something to be noticed. This may be a little editorializing, and whatever this is a blog, but JJJ makes the best music videos in Buffalo. Every one is different and it is obvious that the rapper thoroughly thinks through his projects’ locations, props, and scenarios.  Other acts should take notice because we’re becoming a little waned from these repetitive narratives. coexist from ROY Productions on Vimeo.
