The Warp/The Weft – “Briars”

Justin Jay – “Can’t Hang”

Rising star in the electronic community Justin Jay ties in elements of soul and funk to his line of house music, highlighted in his new track “Can’t Hang.” In a little over five minutes, the song unravels layers of instrumentals while working through a lyrical mantra. Hills – “Push It”

Hills grace us with yet another jam-worthy single from their album Satellite. “Push It” is a roaring composition, featuring layers of brass, ethereal synths, fuzz guitars, and a thundering bass line. Known for their conglomerate of sound, this single highlights the alt-rock side of Hills, while still holding true to frontman Aaron Zachary’s folksy twang. Gold Class – “Twist In The Dark”

Australian four-piece Gold Class spearhead the release of their second album with their single “Twist In The Dark.” The track is a punk-fueled act of defiance, lending to the album’s overarching theme of resisting the norm and the expectations attached to it. Serving up heavy guitar melodies, powerful vocals, and raging drum lines, “Twist In The Dark” is fiery to say the least, set ablaze with pent-up frustrations and feelings of detachment. Wy – “What Would I Ever Do”

In a raw and exposing arrangement, Wy’s latest single “What Would I Ever Do” redefines self discovery in its most vulnerable form. The indie pop duo set the soundscape with echoing rhythm guitar, rippling synths, and moody vocal melodies. Taking up a similar sound to Lorde, The 1975, and Wet, this track exudes emotion from the first phrase to its highest falsetto-fueled peak. Magdalena Bay – “Drive Alone”

Indie pop duo Magdalena Bay have been known to dazzle the streaming world, and their latest single, “Drive Alone,” is sure to be no exception. In a flurry of cavernous synths, syncopated rhythm guitar, and a propelling beat, the dialogue between Mica Tenenbaum’s sultry vocals and Matthew Lewin’s dreamy choruses ensues. Baba Sonya – “Bones”

Songwriting duo Baba Sonya brew some stark imagery and enduring melodies in their track “Bones.” Canvasing a full range of tonalities and emotions, the musical stylings of Rachel Gawell and Mike Costaney span from soothing acoustics to brooding electropop to emo rock angst. Quality Living – “Oh No”

DIY indie rockers Quality Living grace the world with their latest single “Oh No” as an ode to the band’s basement show beginnings. Featuring bright guitar lines, playful electronic elements, sharp percussion and an unforeseen trumpet solo, the track gives nods to the group’s home grown New Jersey roots. It’s just about as feel-good as it gets, laced with a hint of nostalgia and guaranteed to garner a few head-bobs in the process. Jane Machine – “I Hope We Win”

Jane Machine draws up some of her patented brooding electropop for her single “I Hope We Win.” The brainchild of triple threat songwriter/producer/musician Erica von Trapp, Jane Machine brings to light a personal catharsis, while coalescing inspiration from her formative years. Honing in on pulsing synths, swirling vocals, and a rolling beat, the track conveys a feeling of detachment. With striking lines like “Another would say it’s off / I’m crawling inside because I’m soft” von Trapp knows how to hit right between the ribs, but still make it danceable. Sure Sure – “Friends”

LA’s Sure Sure funnel some heart and soul into their recently released single, “Friends.” The track is a breath of fresh air, keeping spirits high with group falsetto and sprightly piano lines. Document – “Alice”

Off to a roaring start, Document’s new single “Alice” is chuck full of moody guitar motifs and a hefty portion of distorted fuzz. Hailing from Tel Aviv, the four-piece transmit rugged post-punk tunes to fill the void. This song centers on a feeling of disconnect, while gravitating towards the familiarity of the past. “Alice” is the band’s latest endeavor, at the forefront of their debut full length album that is set for a September release. Aggressive Swans – “Every Teardrop”

Munich’s budding alt-pop duo Aggressive Swans make their single debut with “Every Teardrop.” In a wave of swirling energy, the track funnels a rolling bassline, bright synths and crisp drum work into the fray. Singer Christopher Chlupacek has a poignant, storytelling-like quality to his voice, giving the song an extra dose of heft. Drawing similarities to the likes of MGMT, Tame Impala, and Foals, the two marry an alt-rock influence with elements of modern electronica and the zeitgeist of 80’s power pop. Dagny – “Wearing Nothing”

Art pop sensation Dagny hits another out of the park with her latest single “Wearing Nothing.” The video for the track alludes to physical and emotional intimacy though bouncy synchronicity in a radiant finish. The Norwegian native has already racked up 2.5 million streams on the track, receiving nods from Hype Machine, Spotify’s US Viral chart, and VEVO dscr, among other notable sources. Dagny cites inspiration from iconic dance theatrics á la La La Land or a Fred Astaire classic, manifesting a deep connection that eventually runs dry. Featuring sharp percussion, soaring melodies and a thunderous beat under the production of Ludvig Söderberg (Tove Lo, Tori Kelly, Ellie Goulding) it’s no surprise that “Wearing Nothing” is already a resounding hit. Skyler Cocco – “Parasite”

In a striking contrast of distorted guitars and sugar-coated vocals, Skyler Cocco’s single “Parasite” pierces the hearts of grunge pop enthusiasts everywhere. Cocco’s brand of vivid lyricism stems from personal catharsis, channeling the pain of formative years into growth and maturity. The Queens, NY based musician credits roots in songwriting, production, and multi-instrumentalism to her musical development, leading her to cut her teeth in studio composition at the Music Conservatory of Purchase College and develop a unique alt-rock/pop genre blend. “Parasite” plays into this balanced divide, matching angst-driven lyrics with sunny vocal harmonies and murky grunge guitar. Zero/One – “Palm Tree Punk”

In a sleek fusion on soulful vocals, vintage synthesizers, and elastic drum beats, L.A. duo Zero/One bring the fire with a hazy (and bloody) video for their track “Palm Tree Punk.” The track’s churning, reverb-heavy instrumentals up the ante while clips of the city’s landscape stitch the storyline together. Zero/One is comprised of Victor Go and Eric Wang, a self-produced team that draws up stirring electropop with the instrumental stylings of Wang and the vocal impact of Go.
