Joshua Moriarty – “All I Want Is You”

Joshua Moriarty of Miami Horror released his brand new track “All I Want Is You,” a single from his solo project War Is Over. The first single “R.T.F.L.” strayed away from the influences of Miami Horror and focused on newer pop influences. While the first single serves as a change in style, “All I Want Is You” comes as a return to Miami Horror’s influences. The dance-able disco vibes set the stage for Moriarty’s falsetto. While there are influences from the group, Moriarty expanded his creativity and add new depth to his music. Check it out below.

B00TY – “Loosen Up”

Los Angeles based electro-funk-soul duo B00TY dropped their latest music video for the single “Loosen Up” earlier this month. The outfit is composed of vocalists and producers Edan Freiberger and Adam Epelbaum. “Loosen Up” is in between the genres of funk and analog music pairing well with style of Sly and the Family Stone and sharing production style with Daft Punk. There is a deep looping electric guitar riff that pairs with perfectly the drum beat in the background. Cape Francis – “Olly”

Cape Francis released his second song “Olly,” in between work on his debut album Falling Into Pieces, due out on September 22nd via Sleep Well Records. Cape Francis’ first song “Iditarod,” has experience success reaching #7 on HypeMachine’s Popular Chart and is currently featured on Spotify’s New Indie Mix. “Olly” thrives on its subdued vocals from Kevin Olken Henthorn. Divorce Rate – “#1 Fan”

Indie rock/punk trio Divorce Rate dropped their new single “#1 Fan” off their debut self-titled EP. “1# Fan” is the first song the Minneapolis-based group wrote together. The song pertains to someone cutting off all communication to a loved one and never offering any explanation for the actions. Divorce Rate brings a combination of high and low energy to the track. It peaks with the heavy heart in the vocals and mellows out with the strumming of the guitar. Check out “1# Fan” below.

Teenage Wildlife – “You”

Houston-based Teenage Wildlife released “You,” coinciding with the release of their self-titled EP, which came out in August. The band serves as a collaboration between artists Derek Silva and Nader Ibrahim. “You” dives deep into the realm of indie dream-pop, with guitars that roll long and a light vocal pairing into the mix. Combating the losses of loves’ past, “You” brings out the somberness of remembering old loves and where they could have gone while trying to move on from it all.  Listen to “You” below via SoundCloud.

Born Joy Dead – “Sinkhole Holiday”

Brisbane-based Born Joy Dead released the first single Sinkhole Holiday,” off their sophomore EP, Throw us in the Fire, due out in October of 2017. The band is planning on a Fall headline run of eastern Australia with performances in Brisbane, Wollongong, Sydney and Melbourne. Taking influences from garage rock, the band brings grit to its guitars. Ben Dalton’s vocals bring a lighter twist to the song, giving a balance between rough and soft. Forgotten Sons – “Blackened Heart”

Forgotten Sons, hailing from The Shetland Isles, Scotland released “Blackened Heart” in between work on projects. The band first dropped their debut EP Just So You Know in 2015, and are in the process of working on their second EP Changed Days, which is due out in late 2017. Full of raw energy, “Blackened Heart” blasts loud with distorted riffs and gritty vocals that are reminiscent of punk and hard rock. Henry Nowhere – “Don’t Care Where”

Los Angeles-based Henry Nowhere is gearing up for the release of his digital 7″, due out on September 1st. Originally from Oakland, Nowhere moved to Los Angeles with Day Wave, a band he has worked with for the past few years as a bassist. Both songs “Don’t Care Where” and “come Back From LA” were recorded in Nowhere’s Oakland apartment. The single comes as a warm experience, with light vocals and rolling, gently picked guitar riffs. Smoke Season – “Good Days”

Los Angeles-based Smoke Season released a new music video for their song “Good Days.” The duo has done a ton in terms of activism on social issues including traveling to Standing Rock, North Dakota to support DAPL protests and releasing music videos focusing on topics including the bullying of LGBTQ youth, support for veterans, and immigration reform. “Good Days” deviates from the social activism and focuses more on the past.  Vocals from Gabrielle Wortman come as meaningful and aim straight for the heart. The backing instrumentals give the feeling of passing time as they come in slow and melodic. Taking a trip back in time, “Good Days” looks at nostalgia and how it shapes people as time passes by so quickly. Check out the music video for “Good Days” below via YouTube.

Pure Mids – “These Days”

Los Angeles-based trio Pure Mids just released “These Days,” their second single as a group. The new act is composed of multi-instrumentalist William Gonzalez, multi-instrumentalist Steven Martinez, and drummer Daniel Jurado. “These Days” comes packaged as a mixture of classic indie technique, neo-psychedelia and shoegaze. The guitars on the track are effect-laden, but sound smooth and on point as they roll onward. Paired with the relaxed lead vocals of Gonzalez, the combination becomes an easy-going experience. Somehow – “While the Days Go By”

Somehow released the first single “While the Days Go By” off the project Hidden Memories, a new album released by the band on June 9th via Toolong Records. Following up the release of The Desert of Wasted Time, “While the Days Go By” carries a similar energy to the 2016 album. Erwan Pépiot and Aurélie Tremblay prove to be a nice contrast with her light vocals backing his bass heavy voice. The diversity of sounds on the track bridge the gap between indie and pop. Lil Spacely – “You Know It”

Sydney, Australia based rapper Lil Spacely has released the accompanying music video for his single “You Know It,” which dropped in April. “You Know It” has blown up across Australian airwaves since its release, featuring in the top 50 for the Australian viral chart, leading him to feature in multiple gigs in Australia. Scenes feature Lil Spacely in MMA gloves and on the streets in Sydney ready to go to war with other rappers.   Check out the music video below for “You Know It” via YouTube.

Swayyvo – “Set”

Chattanooga rapper Swayyvo comes back with the release of his new single “Set.” Swayyvo is familiar with all sides of music touting production skills as well as experience with the saxophone to go along with his rapping. “Set” comes as a culmination of his music skills, ranging from the deep 808 use in the production from J White and the laid-back flow he brings to the track. NeodotcoM – “Nose Bone”

Chicago based producer/emcee NeodotcoM recently released his new single “Nose Bone.” NeodotcoM draws inspiration from a variety of sources; gaining insight from the flow of Mobb Deep, Big Pun and the references of “C.R.E.A.M.” from the Wu Tang Clan. A bass heavy beat leads NeodotcoM’s hard-hitting bars, reaching out to the grimiest of corners. Casual Friday – “California”

Casual Friday just released “California,” the fourth single off their debut LP Weekend Forever, which came out on July 26th. The Corona, California based band plans on touring in Florida for The Fest 16 from October to November. “California” comes as a mellow song. The lightly plucked riffs are a nod to bands like Weezer.
