Kuf Knotz & Christine Elise – “rē(ə)l ləv (real love)”

Kuf Knotz & Christine Elise had nothing short of a divine connection with their collaboration on “rē(ə)l ləv (real love).” The Philadelphia MC and Harpist were able to get their vision of “rē(ə)l ləv (real love)” captured by Dean Myers, and it’s nothing short of beautiful. It depicts a Philadelphia love story so sweet that “feel good” would be a vast understatement. Everything from the lyrics, to the vocals, to the way they sound with the triumphant instruments at work is a masterpiece. Hether – “Chem Bath”

Learn to float with Hether on his latest track, “Chem Bath.” The production is ridged in a way that gives you a similar sensation to jamais vu… You were sure you’ve been here before, but you definitely haven’t. Hether reminds me of how radically refreshing the alternative indie genre can be when you’re listening to someone who knows where to take it. “Chem Bath” takes place somewhere in the late night under neon lights oozing with color. Have trust and take a trip you’ll never forget with this LA phenomenon. Stream it on Spotify and Apple Music

Maxime. – “u and everyone u know !”

The music wizard of Montreal otherwise known as Maxime. has arrived with “u and everyone u know!” and they’re ready to party, with or without you. This lush bass-booster banger of a song will make you move, I promise. I referred to Maxime. as a wizard because he produces and engineers his tracks, and after hearing not only the quality but the innovation, you’ll see where I’m coming from. With the combined forces of angelic vocals, blended into a professionally composed instrumental to perfection, Maxime. takes “u and everyone u know !” to places you didn’t know existed in the realm of indie pop. Lower Expectations – “Talking To Myself”

The alt-rock band from Rochester by the name of Lower Expectations raised the bar on their latest offering, “Talking To Myself.” The lyrics “when I tell you it’ll be alright, I’m talking to myself,” hit me harder than a train. The righteous rock tune explores the idea of fighting the façade you bring upon your everyday life. It’s a message that sounds comforting coming from someone else; we have Lower Expectations to thank for that. Stream it on Spotify & Apple Music Talking To Myself by Lower Expectations

Meltt – “Within You, Within Me”

With the swagger of an early-2000s hair flip, Meltt hits you right in the face with “Within You, Within Me.” The layers of instrumentation are so well stacked upon each other, giving off the vibe of everything feeling just right. The quartet has a knack at bringing a cinematic ambience with their music. As stunning as the cover art already is, it’s enhanced in their visualizer to fully grasp its perception. Meltt will be playing at the Capitol Hill Block Party festival in Seattle, Washington in which acts such as Diplo will be headlining – but if you’re not in town for that banger, be sure to add “Within You, Within Me” to your favorite playlist instead. Creature Canyon – “Simulator”

Created in San Diego, CA, Creature Canyon introduces their latest indie rocker, “Simulator.” Their movie-soundtrack-worthy single will make you want to form a flash mob with strangers. The deep-cutting electric guitar is thrilling to the ears with how it mimics the hard hitting hook screaming of “Can’t you feel it!?”  And just when you thought they couldn’t get any cooler, Creature Canyon displays a psychedelic appeal visually on a music video directed by Ryan Amyot. Go on a journey that you’ll never forget with Creature Canyon on “Simulator.” Stream it on Spotify & Apple Music

rincs – “Less Polite”

LA-based act rincs very well may be the pioneer of a new genre unlike any I’ve ever heard. The intro to “Less Polite ” is gripping, right from the get-go, with a wave-like sonic sensation. It’s incredible how such abstract noises and rhythms can sound so good when put in the right places. If “Less Polite ” doesn’t leave you with hypnotized spiral eyes, there’s only one possible explanation; you just don’t get it. But that’s okay! We know you’ll get there. Just keep listening until you do. Stream it on Spotify & Apple Music rincs · Less Polite

Cool Heat – “Lately”

Somehow, a solo musician, the Chicago phenomenon by the name of COOL HEAT, has dropped off a single that offers an out-of-body like experience. The dreamy vocals laid atop hypnotic synths are what truly transcends the mind from body while listening to “Lately.” The simplistic, yet trippy music video has garnered over one thousand views in ten days, in which COOL HEAT is shown walking the streets of what is presumably Chicago while quite literally dancing to the beat of his own drum. If you enjoy a good lo-fi track, then do yourself a favor and get plugged in with some COOL HEAT. Stream it on Spotify & Apple Music

Nutrients – “Window Seat”

Your chill, summertime, windows-down-in-the-car anthem has arrived courtesy of Nutrients with “Window Seat.” The rhythms are riveting and wonderfully syncopated to perfection. “Window Seat” sounds like freshly-cut fruit garnishing your favorite flavor of smoothie, in the sense of its sweet refreshing sound. The five-piece based out of Toronto is one song closer to super stardom thanks to “Window Seat.” Nutrients’ self-made music video really shows off their sincerity in not only their craft, but their lives as fellow humans with a sense of adventure. Church Girls – “Telepathic Mind”

The Philadelphia four-piece by the name of Church Girls is back just in time for their EU/UK tour with new single “Telepathic Mind.” The crowds are going to be raging their faces off from country to country… Why? Perhaps it’ll be due to the high harking lyrics laid down in harmony, the heart racing tempo, or maybe the razor sharp shredding of guitars. One thing’s for sure, “Telepathic Mind” is going to be a song Church Girls take with them on future tours, making memories that fans can take home with them and look back on fondly. Strawberry Cough – “My Song 19”

The Salt Lake City quartet known as Strawberry Cough has breached the surface with their debut single, “My Song 19.” Broken into several sections, their first single impressively sounds more like an all-encompassing EP. The breakdown section halfway through likely draws from their inspiration of the Beatles as it gives off the energy of a field of hippies all swaying in unison. The concluding electric guitar solo is what “Hotel California’s” guitar solo would’ve sounded like if you were to go back in time to give Joe Walsh a double dose of steroids. FNTN – “Crypto Vegan”

Coming together on the east and migrating to the west coast of LA, FNTN has had quite the journey, most recently leading up to their latest 2022 groove. “Crypto Vegan” is an eccentric, surfed-out goodbye to someone you once loved who left the rock and roll lifestyle behind for a life of business and cubicles… Not that there’s anything wrong with that. “Crypto Vegan” shows off charismatic pop and swoon-worthy synth rock for whenever you’re trying to feel nostalgic. The cover art reflects the smooth and bouncy retroesque waves being pushed by the aesthetic of FNTN as a whole, and evidently, their new single “Crypto Vegan” itself. bennytheghost – “Tightrope”

Coming from the land of entertainment, aka LA, Bennytheghost’s status as an artist is unmatched. The truth to that statement lies within his latest drop, “Tightrope,” which has all the elements of a hit. Iconic lyrics that bennytheghost reportedly spent weeks revising and rewriting… But ultimately went with the first draft that they made in two hours. The music video directed and edited by Axel Kabundji displays in full how care-free the song’s vibe really is. “Tightrope” reached all streaming platforms on the fateful April 20th of 2022, get it while it’s fresh! Conway the Machine – God Don’t Make Mistakes

The spirit of Buffalo is a very real concept that only true Buffalonians could understand; a sense of community, validity, and authenticity. The legendary rap group Griselda managed to spread the spirit of Buffalo on an international level – one third of this hip-hop superpower, Conway the Machine, recently dropped what is easily his best work to date, an LP entitled God Don’t Make Mistakes. Conway’s cutthroat delivery intersects the eloquent piano keys laid over his beats with pinpoint perpendicularity. Listening to God Don’t Make Mistakes takes you into a hip hop classroom and Conway the Machine is the coolest teacher you’ve ever had. The diversity of emotion Conway has the power to convey is infinite, especially when comparing the vulnerable “Stressed” to the triumphant “So Much More.” When he says “Don’t let em’ put me in no box, I’m so much more,” it hits hard. It’s a very surreal experience[...]

TTB Donntae – “START IT UP 2”

Buffalo-based artist TTB Donntae saw a lack of hip hop percolation in the local rap scene and decided to capitalize on the situation. Bringing in relentless flows, memorable lyrics, and standout delivery all on a bomb-ass beat; allow me to introduce “START IT UP PART 2.” TTB Donntae is currently working on his third project titled Seven6teen and has released a plethora of singles leading up to it, most notably, the sequel to his song “START UP” released on previous project The Fall of Man.
