If dreamy synth-wave is your desired soundtrack for a day in the sun, look no further than Inner Wave’s latest single, “Eclipse.” Combining elements of Latin jazz, psych-rock, and dream pop, the L.A. five piece bring something new to the table to sink your teeth into. The band has been together since their preteen years, and with that comes sense of unity and self-awareness only to be found in a group of friends that survived the tedious awkwardness of middle school. Taking cues from the likes of Tame Impala and Lil Ugly Mane, Inner Waves pair soaring falsetto with ponderous guitar lines, groove bass and luminous synths. “Eclipse” is the prequel to the release of their upcoming album Underwater Pipe Dreams, due out this August. Until then, sink into some beachy-goodness with the single below.
