Tunnel – “Lemonhead”

Tunnel doesn’t give a shit, and they want you to know. No, not like, anarchy, doesn’t give a shit – more like, they do what they want, unapologetically. That mindset is clearly evident in their latest offering, “Lemonhead” – full of unique instrumentation (think horns), lots of welcome noise, and singer Natasha Janfaza’s perfectly-suited voice, “Lemonhead” feels like a composition rather than a simple indie-pop tune. If you follow us at all, you know we’re a sucker for heart-on-your-sleeve sincerity – this one checks all the boxes (and then some). Check out the video for “Lemonhead” below – you can also find it on Spotify.

Kleo – “Miss You”

Kleo is bound to capture your heart with the upbeat indie-pop of her latest offering, “Miss You.” Sure, the song is ultimately about haunting memories that replay like a film in your mind, but ultimately, “Miss You” is one of those songs that urges you to look at the bright side and bring a little light back into your life. Equal parts indietronica (Lykki Li, Ellie Goulding) and adult contemporary (Colbie Caillat), “Miss You” is uplifting and memorable enough to slot onto any playlist for any occasion. “Miss You” is available now on Tambourhinoceros – you can also find it on Apple Music and Spotify.

Nadia Kamrath – “Feel This Once”

Soft indie-popper Nadia Kamrath captured our typically black hearts with the lighthearted sparkly vibes on her latest single, “Feel This Once.” Bringing to mind fellow janglers like Snail Mail, Beabadoobee, and Clairo, Nadia combines her breathy vocals with gently strummed guitars for a feel-good wave of serotonin to your brain. The song is about a fateful bridge jump into the Atlantic Ocean with a friend, metaphorical of the relationship they were entering at the same time – a storybook love story spun with perfect emotion. Check out the video for “Feel This Once” on the blog now – you can also find it on Spotify.

roman around – “Rhythm”

Fresno, California-based act roman around came at us with the high-energy indie rock of “Rhythm.” Equal parts noisy and spacy, “Rhythm” boasts an unusually slappy (in a good way) bass tone and bombastic, ear-catching snare. Recorded entirely by roman in their home studio, “Rhythm” leans very close to visceral post-punk and deals with the complicated emotions of losing a beloved pet. Check out the music video for “Rhythm” below, out now on Trailing Twelve – you can also find the song on Spotify.

Hunny Ten – “Talk To Kate”

Funk-pop luminaries Hunny Ten explore their lyrical side on the exuberant “Talk To Kate.” Big bassline energy and strong, sugary pop melodies will coat your ears as they meld the best of both their identities – funky goodness with an indie/alt flavor. The Brooklyn-based crew is gearing up to release their next offering, Schmo, due out October 22; until then, get ready for a good time with the upbeat vibes of “Kate.” Check out the music video below – you can also find “Kate” on Spotify as well.

Hard Lights x ECHOWALL x Jaimes – “Stereotype Of A Broken Mind”

Like horns being blown for battle, “Sterotype Of A Broken Mind” hits you with the might of 300 Spartans. Hard Lights, ECHOWALL, and Jaimes came together to assemble a bittersweet symphony depicting an internal war with mental health. The anticipating drums are extremely marchable as they rightfully lead into a very moshible hook. Simultaneously, the track sounds like something we’ll hear while watching Fast & Furious X; in other words, the production is truly cinematic. Despondent – “Do You Like It?”

Despondent’s brand of lo-fi emo is strangely addictive – their latest offering, “Do You Like It?” is great evidence of their infectious sincerity. Jangly, about-to-fall-apart guitar noise and a warm, analog-sounding mix provides the backbone for singer Nora Schlang’s heartfelt vocal delivery. Reminiscent of acts like Big Thief or Phoebe Bridgers, Despondent brings about their own brand of heart-on-your-sleeve indie rock with an endearing DIY feel to their songs. You can find “Do You Like It?” on Spotify and Apple Music too.

The KVB – “Lumens (Trentemøller Remix)”

Frequent buffaBLOG subject Trentemøller lent his remix skills to this excellent track, “Lumens,” originally by UK-based act The KVB. The icy-cold post-punk instrumental flavors mix nicely with the dreamed-out vocal presence – fans of Interpol or The xx will find lots to love here. The two worked together to create something that stayed true to the KVB’s original, while also showcasing Trentemøller’s knack for building songs around strong pop melodies. About the remix, he says: “I really love KVB’s original version but I wanted to see where I could take the song, especially the vocal melody. So I basically built up a whole new instrumental tune around the vocals.” Check out “Lumens” below – you can also find it on Spotify and Apple Music.

Ace Louie- “Way Up (feat. Junior)”

The ever so suspenseful instrumental on “Way Up (feat. Junior) is met with viscous flows and lyrics laid down by none other than Ace Louie. The MC from Saint Louis is no stranger to putting beats in body bags but “Way Up” brings a certain energy that is better expressed through sprints and bench presses rather than words. The guest Junior has also been featured alongside acts such as Cardi B and Trey Songz so you already know he’s coming correct. “Way Up” is just 1/3rd of Ace Louie’s three piece EP titled “Still Here.” So if I’ve sold you thus far, then perhaps you should consider the rest of his collection. Keni can Fly – “99’ pollen”

From the initial blissful chirping of birds to the final laughter laced with distortion, “99’ pollen” is the new cool thing; and everyone’s trying it. Keni can Fly is no stranger to the creation of bangers that offer more than a measly head-bob. I’m talking about flows so nasty that if you don’t make a stank face then you may be eligible for a fresh new pair of hearing aids. It’s incredible how the production over the instrumental is connected to Keni can Fly’s every word like a puppet on a string. To put a cherry of legitimacy on top “99’ pollen” comes with a music video to max out its professionalism; leaving you with nothing left to critique and everything to appreciate. The Goodwill Projects – “A Love Called Soul Power (Remix by The Goodwill Projects)”

Coming from the west coast of Oxnard California, The Goodwill Projects have touched down with “A Love Called Soul Power (Remix By The Goodwill Projects).” The remix is unlike anything I’ve ever heard. If spoken word and funkadelic had a child it would be “A Love Called Soulpower.” What makes The Goodwill Projects truly refreshing is the charisma and confidence within their outlandish storytelling and delivery over an instrumental that naturally makes you sway. What are you waiting for? Chronicle – “Modern Goodbyes (Bestie)”

A new voice from Tulsa, Oklahoma has emerged to bring you peace in all of your “Modern Goodbyes.” Said voice is sung by none other than Chronicle who provided us the slow song of the summer with angelic vocals that slide down the instrumental like honey. The production over the track sounds something like Toy Story met up with Tyler the Creator and they made a classic soundtrack. “Modern Goodbyes” is smooth yet heavy hitting on all aspects from the instrumental, the vox, the lyrics down to the delivery of the concept itself. “Modern Goodbyes” is a song you play after letting go of someone you love for their sake over yours. It’s evident that Chronicle speaks directly from the heart with full sincerity and obligation to his own vision, and that’s what makes him authentic. Stream it on Apple Music & Spotify

Bindy – “Bathtub”

New York-based act Bindy slunk into our inbox with the haunting slow burn of their latest single, “Bathtub.” The song is a metaphorical look at being in a funk, carried by singer Francesca “Bindy” Craft’s aloof-but-applicable vocal styling, matched perfectly with the intricate-but-tasteful guitar and bass that slither in a coiled-up way, like a snake that’s been fully charmed. The song explores things we turn to in times of discomfort, like the warm hug of a bathtub; they eventually become a crutch that’s far too difficult to walk away from. Do you brave the pruney hands and freezing cold air? Or is it easier to just stay in the lukewarm water? Check “Bathtub” out via Soundcloud below – you can also find it on Spotify. Bindy · Bathtub

Lil Seyi – “AC Press”

Kitsune Musique knew what they were doing when they picked up the percolating Lil Seyi. An artist/producer from Maryland, ready to take what’s rightfully his, with the scintillating “AC Press.” The young artist routinely slides out of your speakers and into your playlist with ease. The latest track comes with an incredibly professional and conceptual video that features a wild ride in a red Tesla! I think “AC Press” is just the beginning of something much bigger, as Lil Seyi is gearing up to drop another video sometime in the very near future. Until then… Stream it on SoundCloud & Spotify  Watch the video for “AC Press” on YouTube

Andrxw – “Bottom of the Top”

If you’re looking for some rare vibrations that have yet to be discovered (until now), look no further than “Bottom of the Top” by Andrxw. The producer/singer-songwriter/wizard had the help of his friend Spectrxm in putting together his latest project, Sonics 2070. Such a title alludes to the idea that Andrxw and his fellow collaborative producer have an idea of what music should sound like about fifty years from now, and after hearing what they had to say; I agree. The vocals on “Bottom of the Top” pour like water out of Andrxw’s mouth, giving off tones of internal rebellion and setting oneself free once and for all. Enjoy “Bottom” on both Apple Music & Spotify.
