Tonight: Well Worn Boot

Cosmic forces beyond our limited human capacity for understanding are aligning tonight in Allentown when beloved but currently defunct hillbilly psycho cowpunk outfit Well Worn Boot reunite for one night only at Nietzsche’s with an absolutely stacked all star bill. Prepare your mind and body for a potentially Jodorowskyesque (or is it Schlesingeresque?) journey that will test everything you have as you venture up the unholy mountain, urged upward by Fredtown steam folk punk foursome Mr. Boneless, also reuniting for the evening; Rochester freakazoids Harmonica Lewinski and experimental acoustic duo Green Schwinn before the deranged masked men of Well Worn Boot unleash god knows what upon those in attendance and doing whatever they’re going to do to us to break on through to their own twisted version of enlightenment. Will it be legal? Maybe. Will it be preposterous, twisted, and not soon to be forgotten? Without question. Doors are at 8pm and cost of[...]

“Night Time with Harvey O’King” Seeks Music Submissions

If you happened to notice your facebook feed was decidedly phalic-less over the last few months, then maybe you didn’t catch the note that Well Worn Boot had hung up the masks as the Plainsman road the Horse into the sunset for good. All is not quiet though on the WWB front. Former frontman, Matt Wisnewski, is set to debut a very different new project, a web series featuring paper mache dummies and puppets titled “Night Time with Harvey O’King.” According to the presser, the series is about a “washed-up talk-show host and his side-kick monkey.” So what does this have to do with music? Well, Wisnewski and crew are looking for artists to submit music to be featured in the series. Local acts like Mr. Boneless, Crontab U-John, and Green Jello have already gotten in on the fun, and more acts are being sought. If you are interested in possibly having your music featured[...]

Well Worn Boot Returns With BOOT IN SPACE

Returning from the outer reaches of the universe with a shitload of space weed, Well Worn Boot recounts their star cruising exploits in the new comic book/EP titled BOOT IN SPACE. The Boot jams out harder than ever before, and if these tracks don’t make you party your ass off you should take your pulse or check yourself into a nursing home. Wildly heavy, funky, and of course accentuated by soaring flute melodies, the band experiments with inter-species erotica by way of alien chicks, terrorizes hot tubs, and gives an ultimatum with “Riverbottom Nightmare Band.” Intoxicated and speeding into the future, the band is being pursued by a highway patrolman when they are abducted by aliens and launch into the crowd favorite, “Drunk on the Highway.” A run in with space jail isn’t enough for the dudes, as they party on and try to repopulate the universe before their inevitable[...]

Today & Tonight: Well Worn Boot Comic/EP Release Party

If you need a little excitement to liven up your Easter weekend, you’d be wise to catch Well Worn Boot – possibly the most shocking band in town – at Nietzche’s tonight, for the release of their new EP and corresponding comic, Boot In Space. If you’ve never heard the band, you’re in for a completely unique experience. Imagine if Primus, The Cramps, Motorhead, and Jethro Tull were all put it a blender, and you’d have a reasonable idea of what their sound is like, but really, they’re unlike anything you’ve ever seen. Their music prominently features the flute alongside driving baselines, and old-school psychobilly guitar riffs, and they seem to take equal inspiration from punk, prog, and shock rock. The result is something wholly unique, and quite unsettling for those who aren’t prepared for it. The new EP figures to be yet another head rush of innovative, genre-bending music, and[...]
