On the Cinder – Lamplighter

Punk rock acts as a conduit to free oneself. Restrictions are lifted, and the only requirement lays in the band’s willingness to persevere. On The Cinder began their crusade in The University at Buffalo. They hit the ground running, feeding off of the advice they now dispel to younger bands, “Once you have eight songs get in the van and go.”. An EP, two tours through America’s underground circuit, and a then a full Length LP with a tour of Canada filled the bands schedule. Tonight: Pears

Fat Wreck Chords’ Pears are bringing their blistering punk rock to Buffalo tonight, in support of their next release, a split due out November 3rd. In case that wasn’t enough, they have the raucous BIG UPS and the fun and energetic Russian Girlfriends in tow. As a wonderful added bonus, Buffalo punk rock staples On The Cinder are also on the bill. Tonight will be a punk rock show for the ages, so get your devil horns primed and prepare to mosh. *NEW VENUE* Tonight’s show will be held at Mohawk Place. Tonight: Worriers

Brooklyn’s Worriers will be making a stop in town tonight, headlining a basement show that should thrill punk fans who love all things heavy and loud. Joined by three Buffalo bands, Worriers are promoting their 2015 LP Imaginary Life, a record filled with Against Me! influenced indie-punk jams released via Don Giovanni Records. Two of the other acts featured will be celebrating new releases. Local punkers Basement Rat is releasing a cassette version of their album Pura Mujer. Also on the bill is On the Cinder, who will be celebrating the release of their latest album The Fight Against Ourselves. Rounding out the lineup is Grain Assault, who offer a chaotic brand of fast-paced punk. The show starts at 7pm at Hoyt House. Cover is $6 at the door, or free/pay what you can for under 18.

Tonight: Orenthal

Local punk act, Orenthal, is having a release party tonight at Mohawk Place, for their debut album, Rising. Aggressive punk rock prime for rushing the front and enthusiastically shouting along with the lyrics with finger-pointing exclamations. The band cleverly mixes hardcore punk influences with ska breakdowns, making the songs both fun and unpredictable. Fans of the Offspring’s Smash, NOFX, or Bad Religion should be psyched on it. Also on the bill is On The Cinder, BastardBastardBastard, as well as The Wagon by way of Akron, OH. Show starts early, like get there at 7pm seriously early. $5 cover. Pack some extra bills to pick up the Orenthal album.
