Tonight: Candy Ambulance

Must-see Troy, NY grunge rockers, Candy Ambulance, make their much-anticipated return to Buffalo tonight for a party hosted by Milkie’s on Elmwood. Candy Ambulance has a well-earned reputation for putting on a killer set you don’t want to miss. This badass and charismatic tripod, composed of singer and guitarist Caitlin Barker, bassist Jesse Bolduc, and drummer Jon Cantiello, is fueled by pure passion and alcohol. Barker lets her booze-soaked vocals stumble everywhere from a soft sincerity to a snotty snarl. Laid underneath are live-wire riffs and catchy drumbeats layered by Bolduc and Cantiello that will get your BAC pumping. Catch them while you can for a blackout good time. 14 Trapdoors Comes Through with New Single “Ghosts”

Buffalo’s own 14 Trapdoors comes through with their hyped-up new hip-hop single, “Ghosts.” This three-headed crew is comprised of emcees, Bendyface, WZA and Short Moscato, who skate on a banging squeegee trap beat like big baller figure skaters. Tonight: Heart Bones

The 9th Ward at Babeville in Buffalo hosts a special mid-week treat tonight with the eccentric indie-pop duo, Heart Bones, taking the stage. After meeting on tour in recent years, fearless singer-songwriters, Sean Tillman (aka Har Mar Superstar) and Sabrina Ellis (A Giant Dog, Sweet Spirit), joined forces to compose irresistible love songs with a dangerous edge. This modern-day Sonny & Cher share a love for the theatrics that shines through in their performances as they sing their hearts out over colorfully catchy beats sweetened with moody synth melodies. Tonight: Crimps

Buffalo’s Mohawk Place is going to rock your socks off tonight with the help of local and out-of-state punk rockers. Headlining are the Salem, Mass synth-punkers, Crimps. This four-piece, who kicked off 2019 with the release of a split with Automatic Shoes, specialize in catchy, no-nonsense punk beats sugarcoated with bright-eyed, bushy-tailed synths. Take that and mix in some lo-fi, sing-a-long harmonies and you’ll be crowd surfing and stage diving in no time. Don’t miss this welcomed breath of fresh air tear it up while you can. Opening tonight are new punks on the block, Piss Phantom. There’s something special, but certainly not pretty, about this Buffalo band and their down-and-dirty, DIY sound that will take you by storm. Expect to hear ear-bleeding material off their just-released EP, Piss Takes Two, that’s a one-two knockout punch of raw guitar riffs and stark-raving-mad vocals. Death Bells – “Around the Bend”

Aussie-born, LA-based duo, Death Bells, flex their post-punk muscles in the video for their new single, “Around the Bend.” The song reflects on feelings of stagnation founding band members William Canning and Remy Veselis had when they decided to pack it up and move to Los Angeles for new opportunities. The track is packed with a driving drumbeat, thoughtful chords and a chorus that will echo in your ears for days. Cannons – “Talk Talk”

Electro-pop trio, Cannons, release the iridescent new video for their single, “Talk Talk.” This sultry number is lead by dreamy vocalist, Michelle Joy, over a catchy and fizzy beat courtesy of guitarist, Ryan Clapman, and drummer-keyboardist-bassist, Paul Davis, that will tickle your ears. Rees Finley – “I Belong Beside You”

Get ready for some melodic alt-rock goodness with “I Belong Beside You,” the new single from Columbus, Ohio singer-songwriter, Rees Finley. This track will hold you from start to finish with a sunny melody intertwined with killer riffs, dancy drums and Finley’s electric vocals. They Owe Us – “Don’t Think About Me”

Swedish indie-pop duo, They Owe Us, schools us in the visuals for their hypnotic new dance single, “Don’t Think About Me.” Off their debut album, Broken English & Sad Serenades, duel singers, Rane and Kris, borrow from their own experiences as grade school outcasts to set the visual backdrop. Tonight: Potty Mouth

Buffalo’s Mohawk Place hosts a bad-ass night of women-lead indie rock acts tonight that will melt your face clean off. Topping the bill is the LA-based pop-rock trio, Potty Mouth. Still riding high off the releases of their sophomore album, SNAFU, and new single “I Wanna,” the band promises a set full of lighthearted and high-powered melodies that will make you throw a fist in the air. Both catchy and in your face, Potty Mouth is irresistible and sure to be added to your heavy rotation after this livewire performance. Providing support is the LA indie rocker, Colleen Green. If there’s one thing you should know about Green it’s that she’s cooler than you. Get over it. She’ll charm you with anti-social bubblegum vocals over crunchy riffs straight from the garage. You don’t want to miss this talented singer-songwriter while she’s in town. Rounding out the night is local alt-rocker, Stress Dolls.[...]

Miss June – “Best Girl”

New Zealand punk rockers, Miss June, go hard in the visuals for their wildly melodic party anthem, “Best Girl.” Fronted by singer/guitarist, Annabel Liddel, the Kiwi Courtney Love commands the track with an irresistible and fun chorus that will make you want to do a keg stand. Quinton Brock Unveils New Single “Rush for Love”

Former Buffalonian-turned New York soul crooner, Quinton Brock, strikes an emotional chord with his touching new single, “Rush for Love.” Off his upcoming EP, Scooter, Brock enlists the help of legendary Stone City Band bassist, Jerry Livingston, to bring this thoughtfully heartbreaking rendition to life. The vocalist will give you goosebumps as he pours his heart over an emotional beat stitched together with measured trumpets and pining strings. Slow Cooker – Do a Kickflip

Grab your board and get ready to shred with Buffalo four-piece, Slow Cooker, and their debut full length, Do a Kickflip, a post-hardcore tour de force that will leave your ears happy and bleeding. Since forming in 2015, old friends Ian McCrohan, Andy Krzystek, Joe McGrath and Adam Malchof have carved out a distinct and delightful calamity of sweaty garage rock injected with hardcore punk super serum. The results, as reflected in the hilariously off-putting cover art, are unapologetically unique, individualized and just plain awesome. You can call it “weird,” but the best and most interesting things in life usually are. Do a Kickflip opens with a big bang with the track, “Fix It.” Right off the bat, Slow Cooker pummels you with a one-two knockout punch of righteously avant-garde garage jams complemented perfectly by unmistakable vocals. Famous – “Forever”

Get swept up in the visuals for the wonderful art-rock opus, “Forever,” from London act, Famous. This is the first single on their recently released debut mini-album, England, and boy is it a good one. Beef Gordon Whips Up New Single “ABC”

Rochester weirdo pop provocateur, Beef Gordon, channels an S&M Raffi on the subversive new single, “ABC.” Off his debut album, Queen Shade, Gordon (also from Buffalo Sex Change) crafts a playfully elementary beat entirely on a Casio MT-68 keyboard. With each keystroke, the wonderfully bizarre crooner lulls you into a lucid dream that’s far more mischievous than it lets on. Get tied up in this neat little track below.
