JEWELTONE – Visions of Heaven
Buffalo hardcore trio, JEWELTONE, bring the pain with their new EP, Visions of Heaven. Following up their demo release last year, this bruising EP features four new tracks of stripped-down, no-frills hardcore punk that will have you two-stepping and stagediving.
With an endearing band statement of unity and inclusivity, JEWELTONE have spent the last year building a name for themselves in the city’s hardcore scene. At their shows you’ll find a melting pot of all ages and backgrounds pinballing off heavy riffs, punishing drums, and howling vocals.
Consisting of Christian Adams on bass/guitar, Jordan Walker on drums and Neftali on vocals, each member brings their own unique perspective and influences to the project. These influences, acting as their north star, are wide-ranging and far-reaching, especially Nef’s whose roots are firmly planted in Buffalo’s hip-hop community.
Their spotlighted single “IDFWY,” puts all these influences in a blender for a juiced-up protein drink of chugging riffs, metal-inspired drums and Rage Against the Machine-like vocals. The song is chunky, melodic and showcases the band’s musicianship with seamless, silly putty tempo changes and transitions. As a whole, the track rhythmically peaks and valleys throughout while building to a methodically crushing breakdown for an absolute ripper of a track.
With Visions of Heaven, JEWELTONE has found their heavy-hitting groove. It’s a symphony of windmills and spin kicks resembling a freak conjoining of Don Quixote and Jean-Claude Van Damme that shouldn’t be missed, nor ignored.
Visions of Heaven is brought to you by Triple Hammer Records and is available for streaming on all major platforms including Spotify and Apple Music.
