buffaBLOG’s 15th Birthday Party @ Milkies
We are turning 15! It seems like yesterday we were logging into blogger after a 27 minute crash course in HTML at Spot Coffee on Elmwood. The blog has shared the sounds of hundreds of local bands over the past decade and a half and we are excited to continue for the foreseeable future. After a very successful holiday party, we are happy to put quality music on your radar and share our passion for live music and the local community again.
With that, we are excited have our first birthday celebrattion since 2016. On Saturday, Milkies on Elmwood is set to host new-coming indie rock act Fear of Sleep, which features some former members of Feverbox. Also on the bill will be powerpop veterans Matt Smith’s Nervous System *, Tony Hawk’s Pro-Skater ska band Skamagotchi *, and sun-soaked indiejammers Hartwell Hospice House Band. Doors are at 7:30pm with a $13 cover.
Sunday March 30th @ 7pm
José González @ Asbury Hall
Swedish troubadour José González returns to Buffalo much to the delight of the indie folkees in Western New York. The singer-songwriter broke onto the indiesphere in 2006 when he covered The Knife’s song “Heartbeats,” which made it’s way around Garden State enthusiast Myspace pages and hyperlaunched González’s career. Since his breakthrough, González has pumped out four full lengths and numerous EPs, pleasing critics throughout his musical tenure. It’s $49.50, so budget accordingly this week.

Feeling Figures @ Milkies
Milkies is set to host a Tuesday evening ripper, curated and organized by Rochester-based underground punk outlet, Paperface Zine. The lineup features two bands out of Montreal, Tha Retail Simps and Feeling Figures. Retail Simps have an old-school raw rock sound from the 60s with a Daniel Johnston like delivery – Feeling Figures have a moody, indie slacker rock vibe. The latter are touring in support of their later 2024 release Everything Around You which received high internet praise among many lauded outlets. East side punk project Nervous Tick and the Zipper Lips joins the jaunt with support from local scene vets Fatal Figures. $15 doors.
