Green Slime – 2

Buffalo trio, Green Slime, are back and in full effect with their new speaker blowing and truly excellent 10-track stoner garage rock album, 2. Their sophomore full-length can best be described as the perfect combination of heaviness and melody. It’s the kind of songs Rivers Cuomo circa the Blue Album would have wrote had he snorted a mountain of coke and bit the head off a bat. The wonderfully raw and crunchy garage grooves from guitarist Eric Ellman and bassist Mike Euscher are so thick they practically ooze from their amps. The two shred at their heaviest and doomiest on “Survival,” a boisterous track that will possess you to throw up your lighter while headbanging deeply and lethargically along. Tonight: Dentist

Kick your weekend into high gear tonight with an irresistible indie rock show at Milkie’s on Elmwood. Headlining and from the larger-than-life city of Asbury Park, NJ is garage rock act, Dentist. This kinetic trio applies breezy surf influences over raw pop-rock riffs like suntan lotion, creating catchy, sweet and sour records that will get your head bopping. These three have been turning a lot of heads with their 2018 album, Night Swimming, so now is the perfect time to catch their wave live. Tonight: Justin Roeland & the Nightswimmers

Buffalo’s newest and coolest venue, Duende at Silo City, sets the mood tonight with a evening of chilled out, ambient tunes. Taking the proverbial stage are Justin Roeland and the Nightswimmers. Roeland (The Fling) is an Ithaca-based singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who leads this band of indie folk rockers with lethargic, ethereal vocals and catchy, atmospheric melodies. Expect tracks from their latest album, Doomed to Bloom, as well as oldies. Be sure to gather ’round like a campfire under a starry night for what will be an outstandingly scenic set. Performing and flying solo is Emily Finlan, singer, songwriter and guitarist of the Buffalo bedroom folk quartet, heave. Finlan slowly weaves and anchors beautiful and delicate lullabies with a velvety voice so touching it will bring a tear to your eye. JC (AYAM) Cuts New DIY Video “N.I.P. TOO” Loose

Buffalo emcee, JC (AYAM), drops the video for his foreboding new head nodder, “N.I.P. TOO.” This ominously hypnotic cut traps you down in a shadowy dungeon tormented with executioner’s horns, drippy finger snaps and skittering hi-hats. (AYAM) lurks through this bumping and doomy beat with faded brag raps that echo down dark, cavernous passageways. It’s a mesmerizing record to chill to, especially when laid up in the torture rack, so fall under (AYAM)’s trance below.
