Ghodsy – “FORTRESS”

Rising LA emcee, Ghodsy, creeps out of the shadows to drop the visuals for his latest loosie, “FORTRESS.” Featuring an ominous, paranoia-provoking beat that would leave Charles Manson looking over his shoulder, Ghodsy spits intricate brag-raps with an impressive command over a velour flow that switches up with ease and consistency. Having graduated from UC-Berkeley and leaving behind a normal life to focus on music full-time, Ghodsy is a writer’s rapper not to be slept on. Tonight: Joywave

Tonight Joywave blows the roof off Buffalo’s historic Town Ballroom for the final date of their ‘Thanks. Thanks for Coming’ tour. In case you’ve been living under a rock, Joywave are Rochester indie rockers fronted by multi-hyphenate Daniel Armbruster. Their latest album, Content, was released last year and gathered millions of listens with singles “It’s a Trip!” and “Doubt.” Be prepared to move and potentially lose your voice. Joining the party is LA-based singer-songwriter Sasha Sloan. You might recognize her porcelain voice from collaborations with Kygo, ODESZA and Kaskade, but now she’s singing her own awesome and moody pop songs. Also performing are Rochester-based rocktronica four-piece, KOPPS, and synth poppers, Humble Braggers. Kimotimo – “RPG Character (ft. Shady Monk and Drive45)”

Helsinki, Finland’s Kimotimo comes to us with a new collaboration with Shady Monk and Drive45 for a 16-bit bubblegum electronica track that will surely give you a sugar high. Featuring a retro-future beat that matches the programming of an overly optimistic robot, Kimotimo crafts a cavity-causing sundae for the ears with Drive45’s fluffy vocals as the cheery cherry on top. Mio – “All About It”

Take flight with Mio’s latest electronica track, “All About It,” a collaboration with London-producer and multi-instrumentalist Andrew McDonnell about the indecisiveness of the creative process. This foggy, synth-heavy beat starts off as a sparkling whimper and quickly builds to a soaring chorus with rays of light piecing through the haze like a light show. Tonight: Orations

Buffalo’s Mr. Goodbar (Upstairs) is showing off the local goods tonight with a can’t-miss show featuring different shades of punk supplied by Buffalo’s finest. The stellar line-up includes the supremely talented, Orations, who will be performing their fantastic post-punk head nodders and toe-tappers. Expect an earful of jangling guitar riffs, punk-driven drums and Jess Collins’s beautifully resonant, mockingbird vocals. If you haven’t had the pleasure of listening to Orations, see them live tonight and walk away their biggest fan. Also taking the stage, the floor, the walls, the ceiling and your personal space, are punk rockers, Gun Candy. Sexier than a whisper in your ear, Tickle Torture gets all up in your business with this delightfully debaucherous single off his new sex-pop EP, Lovequake. Mammoth Grinder – Cosmic Crypt

Tonight: Bummerville

Tonight Deep Space 8 will be the gnarliest spot in Buffalo with an evening packed with down and dirty, sludge-punk rock. Daniel Brady Lynch’s Bummerville, will be headlining the show and backed by a full band. Good luck keeping your brains from melting out of your ears as these guys bring us an oozy concoction of raw garage riffs and spectral, haunted house vocals coated with a slimy surfer sheen. Expect performances off the newly released album, Bottom Feeder, and a mix of new and old tracks. Also getting in on the grime is Tina Panic Noise, Buffalo’s favorite Queercore, alt-punk rockers. Described best as “noises we make as we panic,” prepare for thrashing guitars, banshee screams and a full body, in-your-face performance from this exciting and raucous three-piece. Rounding out the lineup are Velvet Bethany and Main Breaker. Doors at 7pm, music at 8:30pm. $5 at the door.

Bed Scene – “Videocassette”

Miami’s Bed Scene comes to us with the latest psychedelic-pop track off his debut self-titled EP out now. Enter a vibrant, kaleidoscopic daydream with playfully upbeat guitar riffs, snap-happy drums and warm, echoing vocals that will make you feel like you’re front row at a Rock ‘N Flowers arena show.
