Touche Amore at the Waiting Room (10/17/16)

Have you ever went to a show and been so blown away by an opener that the rest of the show just feels like a blur?  The band that kicked this show off, Culture Abuse, did just that.  One of the most rocking bands I have seen in a VERY long time.  They’re super hard to describe, but damn, you just gotta give them a listen.  Fear not though, Tiny Moving Parts and Touche Amore both still totally killed it.  For Touche Amore’s first show back in Buffalo in two or three years, what seems like every die hard TA fan in Buffalo took to the front of the stage for a set full of scream-alongs and crowd surfing.  Check out some shots from the night below, and click HERE for a full gallery. Tiny Moving Parts at Waiting Room (05/31/16)

This past Wednesday night, the emos came out in droves to see Tiny Moving Parts at Waiting Room. The band has played Buffalo more than a few times over the past couple of years, and have built a strong local following. With relatable lyrics and a boisterous live show, the crowd was on its feet and singing along the whole show, partly due to some stellar opening sets from Buffalo’s own Alleys, as well as touring acts Free Throw and Prawn.  Check out some photos from the show below, and click HERE for a full gallery. Tonight: Tiny Moving Parts

Tonight, Waiting Room once again proves it is the place to be for staked emo gigs as Minnesota’s Tiny Moving Parts will be making yet another stop in Buffalo,  this time in support of their newest release, Celebrate.  Also making a repeat stop will be indie-emo act Prawn, along with Nashville’s Free Throw. Tonight is the night to get sad. Doors open at 6:30pm with a showtime of 7pm, and local act Alleys will be kicking the show off. Tickets are only 14 bucks at the door.

Tonight: The Wonder Years

Tonight, one of the biggest pop punk bands around right now will be rolling through the Town Ballroom.  After dropping a new full length last year, pop-punk veterans The Wonder Years, are bringing a crew of bands with that are sure to make all the sad boy attendees happy, if only for a night. Sharing the stage with the Wonder Years will be post hardcore act Letlive., indie / post rock act Microwave, and Buffalo favorites Tiny Moving Parts. This week Tiny Moving Parts announced the release of a new album, Celebrate, out 5/20.  The trio, boasting the perfect mix of emo, math rock, and indie, are sure to put on one of the most enjoyable sets of the night. Expect to hear the new single off of celbrate, titled “Happy Birthday,” tonight. Doors open at the Ballroom at 6:30pm, with tickets still available at the door for $23.

Modern Baseball at the Opera House (12/03/15)

Well, I learned three things at this show. One, that Jeff Rosenstock needs to be elected president. I’m not really sure why, but he does. Second, that there is nothing like the absolute MADNESS of a sold out PUP hometown show, and third being that stage diving is a dangerous game. Almost right from the get go with Tiny Moving Parts, the crowd was in a frenzy, passionately singing along to the band’s deeply personal, hard hitting lyrics.  Jeff Rosenstock then took the stage and initiated a total party, screaming at the top of his lungs, and even with being the one band on this tour that COULD be considered the odd one out, seemingly had won the entire crowd over by the end of his set, following a great cover of “Dancing Queen” by ABBA. Then, things got real insane real quick.  It’s almost hard to explain how the home town[...]

Tonight: You Blew It! & Tiny Moving Parts

What might be considered one of the top “emo” showcases of the year is happening tonight at the Studio at the Waiting Room. The show is featuring two of the more popular bands in the indie-emo genre, You Blew It! and Tiny Moving Parts, as well as the indie band Rozwell Kid, who loves to bring the shred. Fresh off a new 2014 album, Match & Tinder, You Blew It! will definitely have the crowd singing along. Tiny Moving Parts is a fantastic combination of emo, math rock, flashy guitar work, and relatable lyrics, which makes for a very fun live show with a lot of crowd interaction. Rozwell Kid brings one of the most hilarious live shows I have ever seen. Stay tuned for an interview with them later today. Opening the show will be Buffalo natives Alleys and Well Kept Things, which will fit right in on the bill[...]
