Irish singer/songwriter Maria Kelly wowed us with the acoustic simplicity of her new track “Black & Blue.” Her vulnerable brand of folk is endearing, as demonstrated by Kelly’s pin-drop vocals and charming lyricism. fiancé – “h.a.g.s.”

Delaware quintet fiancé released a debut, self-titled record this past February… It was right around then that they started to feel a bit burnt out (real talk: being in a band is hard work). The dudes needed a refresher and decided to release their songs as they wrote them instead. “h.a.g.s.” is their first, post-self-titled. It’s a warbling, 80s-tinged indietronica jam a la Big Eater, Washed Out, or The Cure. Check out fiancé’s Bandcamp page if you’re into it. Hideout is the moniker of Manhattan-based glam-pop artist Gabriel Rodriguez (he also happens to be a longtime band member of Cults). “Changing Us All” is the latest cosmic jam off of his debut album, Rookie. His spacey indie rock would appeal to fans of Wavves, The Walkmen, or Real Estate. Rookie is out now on Thrill Me Records. Check it out here. Lily Virginia – “TV Screens & Videos”

Brooklyn-based alt-pop artist Lily Virginia recently released a live sesh of her new jam “TV Screens & Videos.” Her latest effort, Play Me Twice, is a multimedia effort being released one video at a time. Amy Guess – “10 Times Out Of 10”

Pop songstress Amy Guess recently hit us up with her new video for “10 Times Out Of 10.” About the track, Guess says, “’10 Times Out Of 10′ is a glimpse into my love story – being with someone a long time and experiencing all the highs and the lows and happiest and hardest moments, but throughout everything, you know you’d never want it to be anyone else.” We think she hit the nail on the head. “10” is a simmering pop jam with a video that’s both futuristic and reminiscent of the 80s. Amy is offering “10 Times Out Of 10” via iTunes.

Nick Shattuck & J. Roosevelt – “The Storm”

Producer and California native, J. Roosevelt, first heard “The Storm” live at a Hotel Cafe where songwriter Nick Shattuck was performing a minimal acoustic set with just a percussionist and his guitar. When Roosevelt approached Shattuck after his show to ask if he would be open to a remix, they both decided a collaboration was in order. “The Storm” is their end result, a moody, electronic torrent of dark rolling synths that maintains Shattuck’s bare bones Mississippi River roots while keeping the vibe contemporary and electronic. Shattuck and Roosevelt are offering “The Storm” for free via Soundcloud.
