Max García Conover – “Streetlights”

Max García Conover, a folk songwriter and one-man band based out of Maine, describes this track as a “memory – the beautiful, tragic capacity we have for carrying around little remnants of ourselves.” After lulling listeners into an atmospheric dreamscape, Max’s warm sing-talk vocals reflect on the past, vividly painting impressions of fleeting imagery, glimpses of heartbreak and the scenery of a car crash.Check out Conover’s latest below.

Max García Conover – “fire on i-295”

Singer-songwriter Max García Conover’s latest album was penned in true acoustic-folk fashion – while traveling across the US via vintage motorhome. With a goal to pen one song a week, his album motorhome was born, and with it his lead single “fire on i-295.” There’s a distinctly homey feel to the track, almost as if reminiscing over an old story with a close friend. He opens the door and invites you in, urging you to stay a while. It’s warm and it’s comforting, filled with anecdotes that act as much to set the scene as to bare his soul. With compelling phrases like “I’m gonna love you till my body burns,” García Conover’s lyricism has a way of surfacing to the forefront just when it’s most affecting. Max Garcia Conover – “Motorhome (a love song)”

Jamestown, NY native, Max Garcia Conover, has begun to release weekly songs and videos while holed up in his home recording studio in his new home in or around Portland, Maine. His first video, “Moterhome (a love song),” was released on February 9th and has since released two more videos, the most recent on Sunday, in his year long project. While this Bon Iver-like exile is not a new concept to the musician, this year, the folkie decided to try something a bit different, creating a Patreon page where you, as the listener/viewer, can leave him “tips” for every time a song comes out, giving you early access to the videos and more. You can find out more about the sort-of crowd sourcing project here. Watch the video for the weary, Phosphorescent-esque “Moterhome (a love song)” below, and keep an eye out for future clips on Garcia Conover’s Youtube page.
