Must See Shows (12.11.24-12.17.24)

Wednesday, December 11th @ 6pm
Disintegration @ Area 54/Amy’s Place
Amy’s Place / Area 54 have a mid-week jam-packed show featuring, but not limited to, Cleveland post-punkers Disintegration. The band is the meeting of some the minds behind Pleasure Leftists, Profligate, and Cloud Nothings. Touring in support of the band’s latest album Shiver in a Weak Light, released just this past October, fans of The Faint, Radio 4, or Handsome Furs would like this one.
This bill is jam-packed for real though. It’s not often you have a five band midweek bill. Not to be overshadowed and joining the lineup is hardcore Florida punk band Armor, Philadelphia deathrockers Academy Order and local sets from the spooky Black and White Cat / Black and White Cake and Buffalo hardcore act Exhibition. $15 bucks gets you in. Don’t forget your snow brush because that’s all Alexa is talking about this morning.
Saturday, December 14th @ 7pm
Passed Out Performs Bright Eyes @ Nietzsche’s
Buffalo sad boys Passed Out return for their annual tribute to #1 emo daddy Bright Eyes this Saturday. This is the third year that the band has returned to Nietzsche’s back room for a night of deep cuts and audience favorites. Passed Out‘s lead singer, Andy Pothier, channels Connor Oberst’s delivery to a T in his own songwriting, so think of this as a warm-up for April 2025’s Bright Eyes show.
Joining the night will be indie act tuesday night and mostly pop-punkers West Ferry. The former will be diving deep into some of Oberst’s offshoots/side projects and dab a little bit into Phoebe Bridgers. +10 indie points if you can sing along to Desaparecidos’ “Great Omaha.” $20 if you haven’t already grabbed yourself a ticket.
Sunday, December 15th @ 7pm
Oso Oso @ Mohawk Place
Emo-pop act Oso Oso will be returning to Buffalo this Sunday to celebrate a Bills win against the Lions. Based out of Long Beach, New York, Oso Oso has been a staple in the emerging fourth wave emo scene since the project’s inception in 2014. Although the act has had many iterations, Oso Oso is the blanket name of lead songwriter Jade Lilitri, and his songs affiliated with the act. Fans of Bayside, Brand New, or Death Cab would be into this one. Joining the bill will be NJ alt-rockers Flycatcher and math-y pop punkers Riley!
Doors are at 6pm and there is a $31.52 (all in) cover.
