Dexter and the Moonrocks @ Town Ballroom
Turn off the porch light and put a “Gone 2 Dexter and the Moonrocks” note up for the trick-or-treaters this Thursday. The Abilene-based quartet will be making their Buffalo debut on a very scary evening in support of their latest EP Western Space Grunge. The band is an amalgamation of indie rock, grunge, and a sprinkle of country – an homage to the band’s Texas roots. Much to our delight, Dexter and the Moonrocks’ sound is very sing-a-long friendly with numerous singles chock full of heavy hooks. Fans of FIDLAR, White Reaper, or Wavves would be into this one. Doors are $27.22 all-in.

Light Beams w/ Personal Style, Welks Mice, and echolocator @ Area 54
Dischord Records signees Light Beams returns to Buffalo after a multi-year absence, last playing in the area pre-COVID at the now defunct Sugar City in the late 2010s. The Washington, D.C. dance punk act will be headlining an intimate show on the Kenmore Strip with some quality local support. This would be right up the alley for any fans of Q and Not U, Foals, or Duran Duran. Sharing the bill will be local punk act’s swan song Personal Style, anti-folk xylophone duo Welks Mice, and first wave youngsters echolocator. This is a very stacked line-up and a great chance to catch a promising touring act and Buffalo’s underground music scene, all for $10.

Pink Skies w/ Gabacho and asalone @ Rec Room
hazy electronica a la Tame Impala, r&b flair
Monday, November 4th @ 7pm
Pink Skies w/ Gabacho and asalone @ Rec Room
Hazy electronica act Pink Skies is set to headline an early week showcase. Hailing from Oakland, Pink Skies evolved from the punk scene but found their psych-pop and R&B-tinged tracks to be a little outside the box for that ethos. Doubling down on their sound, the project has produced for Khalid and Glass Animals and shared the stage with some of the most buzzed-about current artists including Goth Babe, Day Wave, and The Knocks. If you are into Tame Impala, Argonaut & Wasp, or MGMT then head down to Chippewa on Monday.
Joining the bill is former Tins guitarist Adam Putzer with his solo project asalone, and Chicago-based Mexican surf-rock act Gabacho. $20.55 at the door.
