“The soundtrack to teenage oblivion” is how upcoming pop artist Matilda Cole describes her catalog… And I’d say that “Bite Down,” the outro of her latest EP The High Dive, is no doubt a testament to that very statement. Iconic lines like “If you’re looking for the church baby, turn around, got an empty hearse and a hole in the ground,” display the edgy pop energy emitting from Matilda Cole’s voice. The nearly four-minute track feels like a two-minute experience due to all of the differentiation in rhythm and timbre throughout.

Just about anyone is sure to bob their head and/or sway in the presence of “Bite Down” but if you’re anywhere in between the ages of 15 & 30, Matilda Cole might be your next hero.
