ellie d. – “Bedtime”

LA-based ellie d. just put out a late-summer jam that has us feeling nostalgic in all the right ways. “Bedtime” starts off unassuming enough – a smooth electropop jam that shows off ellie’s penchant for introspective lyrics. It soon evolves into a nu-disco tinged chorus with a flashy bass line and flourishes of sparkly synths. This one goes out to all the anxious kids out there – check it out below and visit ellie’s Spotify if you dig it. ellie d. · Bedtime

Comfort Kiss – “Silence”

Austria’s Comfort Kiss is the solo moniker for guitarist Martin Wührer, perhaps initially known from the band Like Elephants. We’re digging his latest output, “Silence,” the title track from his debut EP. This one is a dreamy, shoegazy jam with a decidedly bedroom DIY vibe. Full of chimey synths, swirly jangle guitars, and mysterious far-off vocals, this one would fit comfortably on the shelf next to any Slowdive or Pains of Being Pure At Heart album. Check out the video below and swing by Bandcamp to pick up the whole EP.

Jack Binkerd – “Magnolia”

Jack Binkerd is an Alabaman-turned-Nashvillian making alt-country tinged indie rock with a cool, mathy flair. It’s a lot to take in on paper, but we think listening to the start-stop angularity of “Magnolia” will speak for itself. In “Magnolia,” Binkerd combines unique guitar riffing (reminiscent of Minus the Bear) with the sincere emotion that you might hear out of a Pinegrove song. The result is something genre-bending and unique, driven especially by Binkerd’s heartfelt drawl. Check it out below, and if you dig it, be sure to check out his offerings via Spotify.

Nicolas Michaux – “Parrot”

Can’t get enough of “Parrot,” the latest jam from Belgian singer/songwriter Nicolas Michaux. With a sound that brings to mind early !!! or Metronomy, “Parrot” is a super tight indie rocker with hints of nu-disco flavor. This one sounds warm and just a little bit vintage, which adds to the super-charming mix. Check out the lyrical visualizer vid below or swing by Michaux’s Bandcamp to snag a DL.

Medusa Releases Menacing New Single, “Woof”

Here’s another darktronica banger from prolific Buffalo-based producer Medusa. “Woof” is a grungy, genre-bending slog that beautifully aligns with their m.o.: [Medusa has] pledged their life to composing anthems of the scorned. Like the infamous gorgon, Medusa is all about avenging wrongs and turning you to stone – but, like, in a fun way. It’s revenge pop. “Woof” absolutely feels like a revenge jam – especially the recurring refrain of “I’m that b*tch.” Noisy, angry, and menacing, this one is sure to pump some adrenaline into your veins. Check it out below and be sure to add it to your Spotify if you dig it. WOOF by MEDUSA

rincs – “Bobcat II”

We’ve been lovin’ on this twinkly indie rocker from LA duo rincs. “Bobcat II” is a quirky jam, full of spindly twists and turns, unique chord progressions, and a super tight percussion track. This one is ambiguous genre-wise, layered subtly with lots of electronic elements and carried heavily by a buttery vocal track; we especially dig when the bass kicks in the 2nd verse, around the 1:05 mark. Check it out below and be sure to add it to your Spotify playlist if you’re feeling it. rincs · Bobcat II

My Gravity Girls – “Forests”

Loving this super chill ambiance from Italian chillwave act My Gravity Girls. “Forests” is a super simple song; a two-chord jam that could be the soundtrack to a nightly jaunt through a forest. This one is ultra-soothing with a hint of mysteriousness, as perfect for a night drive as it is for winding down at the end of a long day. Check out the striking music video below and keep an eye out for their upcoming album, I Miss Something and Miss Everyone due out in September.

Fellow Feeling – “Dig”

Liking the juxtaposition of somber and urgent here on Fellow Feeling‘s latest offering, “Dig.” This one pairs a peppy bedroom-pop drumbeat with a more laid-back dream-pop guitar track. The song itself is about a codependent relationship and explores the implications of how that might affect your life – this powerful jam makes it the perfect backdrop for such a topic. Check it out below and be sure to swing by Spotify if you dig it.

Bee Bee Sea – “Gonna Get Me”

Bee Bee Sea is an Italian trio who specialize in fun garage rock jams. We’ve been particularly smitten with “Gonna Get Me,” a raspy, grungy number that’s as tight and springy as it is distorted. Sometimes, the best songs are the one’s that eschew twists and turns for big energy and fun melodies – this one is functionally perfect on that level. Fans of Wavves or Cloud Nothings would love this – check it out below or swing by their Spotify to add to your daily playlist. Bee Bee Sea · Gonna Get Me

SENATOR – “makingmoves”

Smooth stuff on this debut single from dreamy VA duo, SENATOR. “makingmoves” is a swimmy little ditty carried heavily by the duo’s wispy, hooky vocal harmonies – not to mention the nu-disco tinged bursts of guitar and percussion. Fans of Men I Trust, TOPS, or Turnover would dig this newly-minted duo’s stuff. Help them get off on the right foot by downloading from Bandcamp below, or swinging by their Spotify. makingmoves by Senator

Jimkata – “Wanna Go”

Ithaca/LA hyrbid trio Jimkata are back (finally!) with an epic synthpop jam called “Wanna Go.” Hot off the heels of a two and a half year hiatus, the synth-soaked trio popped back up with “Wanna” and it’s accompanying music video treatment, utilizing an infinite-frame shtick with a palette of vibrant-yellows. Beyond that, the song is hook-laden, stuffing their synth layers with elements of indie pop and nu disco. Say welcome back in style by checking out their video below

Error Jordan – “Spook’d Ya”

Loving this spooky one from Indiana solo-act Error Jordan. “Spook’d Ya” deals with ghostly presences, future hauntings, and empty-minded musings – but more than that, it has that somber, barely-held-together quality of other rickety indie rockers like Attic Abasement, Cursive, or Modest Mouse. Either way, this one certainly gave us the feels while keeping our heads bobbing and our hearts throbbing, and for that, we’re sharing it with you. Check it out on Bandcamp below. Woodes – “Euphoria”

Every now and then we like to dip our toes into some pure, refreshing pop – and this latest one from Australian singer/songwriter Woodes was just the thing to quench our thirst. “Euphoria” is unabashed in its pop approach – big 90s-pop instrumentals lay the framework for Woodes’ lilting vocal delivery. Even better, this one comes replete with a Lord-of-the-Rings/Fantasy music video with… Get this – choreographed elves. It’s best seen for yourself – check it out below.

June Pageant – “Guess We’ll Never Live There (feat. Edward Phillips)”

Loving this lo-fi dreampop collab between Edward Phillips and June Pageant. This one is built on a tasty Casio-inspired beat, layered tastefully with spiraling guitar sirens and a driven bass backbone. This one feels fidgety and energetic without ever losing it’s dreaminess, plus, it’s got a killer chorus – fans of Castlebeat or Say Hi would dig this one for sure. Check it out below. Thor Rixon – “Why Don’t You Love Me”

There’s something ultra-sexy about this new jam from Thor Rixon – “Why Don’t You Love Me” is a super-smooth indie pop jam with strong funk, soul, and nu-disco vibes. Loving the campy vibes that came through in the music video treatment as well – bowling alley chic, breezy beach scenes, and Thor’s undeniable aesthetic are all very pleasant on the eyes. This one is bound to worm its way into your head – check it out below or add it to your Spotify playlist for best results.
