It’s been a great year for Rochester hip hop, but the city is closing out 2026 with the blues. Well, the bleus. YEAROFJORDN previously graced the buffaBLOG pages earlier this year with his I90 crossover single, “Red Wing Bison,” and he gets behind the boards for this new release with two 585 rappers on the mic with Kai Onyx and Yogi Barry.

This track is what makes underground hip hop special. The beat is smooth and understated, and each rapper’s brought their A-game when it comes to bars. “I give them both sides of my life, like commemorative coins” probably takes it for me. “BLEU NOTES” is a lead single on the forthcoming “Cloudy Above Kodak” album, hitting airwaves on November 16th. If you’ve spend any time in the Roc, you can picture that one.

Check out the Blues Brothers-y video for “Bleu Notes,” below and add it a playlist of your choice on streaming.
