Wolfschmidt – “Svalbard”

Wolfschmidt are about to blow your face off with the soaring math rock of “Svalbard.” I didn’t know what a “Svalbard” was – turns out it’s a Norwegian archipelago, one of the Northernmost inhabited places in the world… And now listening to this song makes me want to visit. Wolfschmidt (who happen to be Swedish) make full use of guitar energy – setting it off with a soaring vocal that is shiver-inducing, pun-fully intended. Lyrically, “Svalbard” “explores the duality of dreading drastic changes, for better or worse.” Gnarly.
