Tonight: Big Huge

Super fun Brooklyn glam punks Big Huge make a welcome return to the Queen City tonight at the newly air conditioned Sugar City with Sofa Kingz, Party’s Over and DJ Fluffybody. Their show last August was a bonafide, life affirming gas, so you don’t want to miss this one, and with up and coming local indie pop outift The Sofa Kingz and Queen City Music Lottery survivors  Party’s Over representing for the area with some tight beats from DJ Fluffybody it’s going to be a good party. Tonight: Deadwolf

Tonight the Mohawk hosts a killer lineup of Buffalo bands headlined by Deadwolf and bringing together genres, scenes, and party people for an excellent late show with Medusa, The Sofa Kingz and Space Cubs. After some hot sets at the Trimania art party blowout and opening for indie darlings Sunflower Bean, Deadwolf will be unleashing more of their heavy psychedelia, while fellow blog favorites Space Cubs will be playing their last show of the summer (boo!) before going into the studio (yay!), making this already hot show an even more precious commodity. Local Infringing garage rockers The Sofa Kingz and dark electronic pop confectioner Medusa get the night going, with doors opening at 10pm and a cover of $6. Heavy Heart by Deadwolf

Tonight: Francie Moon

Fans of garage indie-rock will be treated to a solid bill tonight. Two local groups will be joining New Jersey singer-songwriter Francie Moon at Mohawk Place. The three acts offer an array of DIY sounds sure to get you grooving. Francie Moon blends elements of rock, surf and punk for an effervescent basement sound. She’ll be hitting the stage with her full band, fresh off the release of her moody, ambient, and fuzz dripped record So This Is Life. Buffalo’s Bold Folly are a cavernous psych rock group who put out two new singles this year, highlighting their marriage of lo-fi and gritty music. Rounding out the evening will be rockers The Sofa Kingz. Show starts at 8, with tickets for $5.
