Tonight: The Growlers

Tonight California beach goth rockers  The Growlers grace the Asbury Hall stage at Babeville with genre and gender defying Diane Coffee. Busting straight out of the OC, The Growlers channel classic surf punk with a beguilingly dark sensibility that’s earned them a passionate following, an indie patron saint in the form of Julian Casablancas, and their very own 2 day holiday festival aptly named Beach Goth. Opening the show will be Diane Coffee, aka California multi instrumentalist, actor, and Run The Jewels collaborator Shaun Fleming, touring in support of his current album, the dazzlingly super glam Internet Arms. Tickets are $35 and doors are at 7pm.

Tonight: The Growlers

California surf rockers The Growlers make their way to the Tralf tonight. Labeled by some as “beach goth,” the group offers an eclectic mix of garage, surf, psychedelic, pop and punk elements with disco beat undertones. Following their fun, guitar-centric 2014 release Chinese Fountain, they are gearing up for a new record, and their first for Cult Records. Titled City Club, it is available for pre-order now and due out September 30th. Doors are at 7pm, show starts at 8pm. $20 at the door.

The Growlers – “City Club”

Wonkmasters The Growlers are no strangers to Buffalo – they’ve been mainstays at Mohawk Place for a few years now. Needless to say, we’re delighted to showcase their newest single, the title-track from their upcoming LP City Club. Boasting their trademark raspy slur, bizarro guitars, and a notable Julian Casablancas production credit, “City Club” is truly a great listen. Fans of Les Savy Fav, Scissor Sisters, or The Blood Brothers would dig this tune. City Club is out September 30th via Cult Records.
