Tonight: See Through Dresses

If you have been finding yourself listening to Verucca Salt, The Breeders, Dinosaur Jr., Blake Babies, and other great 90’s “alternative” bands lately, then the lineup tonight at Tudor Lounge can help you scratch that itch. Touring Omahans See Through Dress blends elements from all your favorite bands that Matt Pinfield used to play on 120 Minutes, with a sound that ranges from indie rock to shoegaze to dream pop. Also on the lineup are 80’s gothrock act Orations and raw garage punk band with riot grrrl influences, Trinkit. Doors are at 9pm with a $5 cover. Tonight: See Through Dresses

Omaha’s See Through Dresses is garnering quite a name for themselves between their growing presence on the blogosphere and ability to pack basement shows to the support beams. If their name sounds familiar, you might have caught them on their pivotal opening spot for the sold-out Cursive show last March Signed to Tiny Engines, the quartet is on a nationwide tour in support of the band’s latest album, End of Days. See Through Dresses is a mix between dreamy indie rock and vulnerable shoegaze (a la Bob Mould), depending on if Mathew Carroll or Sara Bertuldo is singing. The group will be making a stop in Buffalo tonight at Mohawk Place with a pretty light bill (considering For The Music Productions is promoting it) featuring Orations, Area Niftyone, Jennifer Karlis, and Improbable Cause. Put $8 in your pocket before you leave the house. Music begins at 8pm.

Tonight: Cursive

Following the deluxe reissue of their hugely popular album The Ugly Organ, indiemo heroes, Cursive, announced a spanning tour which reaches its near end at Mohawk Place tonight. Reviews from this tour have been nothing but positive. Opening the show will be first See Through Dresses, and then Beach Slang. If you caught Beach Slang last year at the Mohawk Place with Cheap Girls, you know that their set is not to be missed. Doors open at 8pm. If you did not snag tickets in advance, you’re out of luck. This show is completely sold out.
