Tonight: Potty Mouth

Buffalo’s Mohawk Place hosts a bad-ass night of women-lead indie rock acts tonight that will melt your face clean off. Topping the bill is the LA-based pop-rock trio, Potty Mouth. Still riding high off the releases of their sophomore album, SNAFU, and new single “I Wanna,” the band promises a set full of lighthearted and high-powered melodies that will make you throw a fist in the air. Both catchy and in your face, Potty Mouth is irresistible and sure to be added to your heavy rotation after this livewire performance. Providing support is the LA indie rocker, Colleen Green. If there’s one thing you should know about Green it’s that she’s cooler than you. Get over it. She’ll charm you with anti-social bubblegum vocals over crunchy riffs straight from the garage. You don’t want to miss this talented singer-songwriter while she’s in town. Rounding out the night is local alt-rocker, Stress Dolls.[...]

Potty Mouth – “Smash Hit”

Potty Mouth are an all-female power trio crafting radio-ready punk hooks like their newest, “Smash Hit.” Hot off a tour with Against Me! and some supporting dates with CHVRCHES, Potty Mouth are looking like they’re about to get a come-up. “Smash Hit” is everything you could expect from a group of three brash punx – it’s hooky, a little snotty, and a lot of fun. For fans of The Breeders, The Donnas, or The Distillers. Fellow buffaBLOGGER Brendan O’Connor interviewed Potty Mouth not too long ago – check it out here.

Screaming Females at Mohawk Place (11/03/15)

Another night, another insane show at the Mohawk Place, and this one literally people hanging off of the ceiling (see below). Buffalo’s Hot Tip started the night off, showcasing their straight up spooky style of punk. Potty Mouth soon followed, treating the crowd to an awesome set of their pop inspired punk jams. And it came as no surprise that Screaming Females’ style melodic punk had the crowd in an absolute frenzy by the end of their set. Check out some shots from the night below, and a full gallery of the night’s photos, click here. Potty Mouth Screaming Females

Potty Mouth

Prior to their set tonight at Mohawk Place opening for Screaming Females, we had a chance to chat with the vocalist/guitarist Abby and bassist Ally of Western Massachusetts trio, Potty Mouth. With a new self titled EP released this August, the three piece has been turning heads, and for a great reason. Their acclaimed style of 90’s tinged punk inspired pop tunes have led to the band taking one foot out of the DIY scene and reaching to bigger audiences, and with great success.  We had a chance to talk about the past, present, and future of the band, as well as essential 90’s film soundtracks. buffaBLOG: For those unfamiliar with your band, care to give a brief history of how you all met and began making music? Ally: We formed in 2011. I met Victoria when we were students at Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts. We didn’t know Abby at the time,[...]

Tonight: Potty Mouth

This may be a bit last minute, but hey, it’s a punk show. Sugar City is hosting an eclectic mix of punk acts from all over the East Coast tonight, starting at 6pm. Potty Mouth, an all-female punk quartet from Northhampton, MA will be headlining tonight’s gig with touring support coming from DIY queercore charmers Aye Nako, of Brooklyn. Throw weirdo-punks Secret Tombs (Pittsburgh) into the mix, and it’s a party. Buffalo’s Softlines and Newish Star will be bringing the local support, making tonight’s Sugar City punk-stravaganza a total no-brainer. Bring a good attitude. Sugar City, 6pm, $7, Alcohol free.
