If you’re looking for some rare vibrations that have yet to be discovered (until now), look no further than “Bottom of the Top” by Andrxw. The producer/singer-songwriter/wizard had the help of his friend Spectrxm in putting together his latest project, Sonics 2070. Such a title alludes to the idea that Andrxw and his fellow collaborative producer have an idea of what music should sound like about fifty years from now, and after hearing what they had to say; I agree. The vocals on “Bottom of the Top” pour like water out of Andrxw’s mouth, giving off tones of internal rebellion and setting oneself free once and for all. Coming from Tel-Aviv, Israel, the act known as Agat has reached the other side of the world with an absolute banger by the name of “Wait For Me.” This outlandish anthem blows through your speakers with a breath of fresh air. “Wait For Me” features the prominent Zelooperz who comes in on pinpoint cue to lay down a lackadaisical verse that brings balance between his and Agat’s frequency. Wauchope-based trio Palomino get raucous and rowdy on their latest indie-punk offering, “Strestaurant.” With meandering basslines, spiraling guitar riffs, and gruff-but-melodic vocal melodies, the three-piece brings to mind acts like PUP, Hollerado, or The Menzingers. Created 100% at home, the band’s sincere delivery isn’t undercut by any sort of DIY-production value (it sounds pretty perfect actually, well done Palomino!) – this one will sit nicely on any playlist that gets your blood pumping. Des Moines-based duo elison caught our ears with their recently-released single, “Covered Me.” The shoegaze-meets-indie-rock-meets-dream-pop tune is full of tasty guitar tones, a hazy vocal presence, and an impending sense of urgency that inspires feelings of longing and bittersweet realizations. About the song, the duo says: “‘Covered Me’ is about coming to the realization that, while in a relationship with a narcissist, you don’t really know the person you’re with. Pr0 Social, born Jerrell Lanos, flaunts his caption-worthy bars with such unpredictable flows on the verses and a hook that comes with a harmony you couldn’t forget if you tried. Production-wise, the beat is impeccable, coming at you with dramatic pauses and some sort of clinking noise that has no business sounding as perfect as it does. As smooth as the Pink Panther, Pr0 Social has been popping out to perform at venues such as the Town Ballroom, which makes you wonder: is this a victory lap for his latest single?
