maxime. – “Quitting Time”

buffaBLOG mainstay maxime. is back with yet another slice of bedroom-pop wizardry, this time in the form of “Quitting Time.” ICYMI, we’re maxime. stans here at the blog (see here, here, and here for proof), and “Quitting Time” is yet another gem that he’s slotted into his growing catalogue of greatness. Fuzzed-out woofy bass tones, curious keyboard blips, and maxime.’s half-slurred vocals give this a mysterious feel, full of vague warnings to give up on what we can only assume is some semblance of a relationship. It’s nebulous and cool and we think you’re going to like it too. You can find “Quitting Time” on Soundcloud (below) and Spotify. maxime. · quitting time

maxime. – “the life and death of a dog”

Montreal act maxime. is no stranger to the blog – check out our previous features here and here. They’re back with another heady jam, this time dipping into hyperpop territory with the sludgy bass groove of “the life and death of a dog.” Sounding utterly 2023-flavored (think Aries or Paris Texas) while paying homage to 90s-era acts like Prodigy and Fatboy Slim, “dog” slinks and slithers into your ears with its unabashed bombastic nature. It’s left-of-center, sure, but that’s what makes it so great… A genre-blending amalgam of all the things you love about music. “the life and death of a dog” is available now on Spotify. maxime. · the life and death of a dog

Maxime. – “u and everyone u know !”

The music wizard of Montreal otherwise known as Maxime. has arrived with “u and everyone u know!” and they’re ready to party, with or without you. This lush bass-booster banger of a song will make you move, I promise. I referred to Maxime. as a wizard because he produces and engineers his tracks, and after hearing not only the quality but the innovation, you’ll see where I’m coming from. With the combined forces of angelic vocals, blended into a professionally composed instrumental to perfection, Maxime. takes “u and everyone u know !” to places you didn’t know existed in the realm of indie pop. maxime. – “read receipts”

Here’s a dope, eclectic one from Ottawa-based maxime.. We’re highlighting this stand-out from maxime.’s latest album, Cerulean. “read receipts” is full of alt-pop bombast – it’s blown-out and fuzzy like an indie rock jam but still retains its synthpop backbone. Feeling just a little left-of-center genrewise, between it’s stream of consciousness lyrics and sonic palette, we think “read receipts” sounds like nothing we’ve ever heard before. Check it out below via Soundcloud – maxime. also has a Spotify if that’s more your thing. maxime. · read receipts
