YLXR Drops Visuals for “BOI”

On-the-rise Buffalo producer YLXR dropped a video this week accompanying his latest single “BOI.” The trip hop track begins slow and dreamy, with an ambient voice and some clinking drums guiding us over reserved synths. Around the midway point YLXR switches up the feel of “BOI,” adding layers of excited, swirling sounds emblematic of something in a Sonic the Hedgehog game. The trippy audio is appropriately partnered with an eccentric video directed and edited by MALTDiSNEY. Consisted of splices of some random 80s/90s movies, humanoid graphics and girls sticking their tongue between their fingers, “BOI” is a pretty wild, entertaining ride. Take the trip with YLXR below.

Wooden Waves Premieres Music Video for “Big Wheel”

The long wait for Wooden Waves‘ Wilder Dreams is nearly over. The months (years?) in the making record, which saw the final pressings take a detour to somewhere in Europe earlier this spring, will culminate next week, Friday, December 5th, at Mohawk Place as the quintet will celebrate the release of Wilder Dreams (One Percent Press) along with Mallwalkers, Jack Toft, and more. Today, WW premiered the music video for “Big Wheel,” an early stand out track from the upcoming record. Shot by go to Queen City director, Malt Disney, the video finds the five-some exploring the late, great Super Flea grounds for relic video games, rims, and top-of-the-line snowboard gear. This marks the second clip shot at Super Flea this year. Earlier this summer, Malt directed Jack Toft roaming the Super Flea as well for MC’s “Beef on Weck” video. Who knew a place that sold bongs, samurai swords, and a[...]

Jack Topht & Malt Disney Release Video for “Beef on Weck”

Shout out to frequent collaborative duo, Jackt Topht and Malt Disney, for giving Super Flea a proper eulogy. Yes, one of the only places in Buffalo where you could buy a live rabbit, a bong, and a samurai sword all from the same vendor closed up shop for good a few weeks ago, set to be demolished for ANOTHER Walmart. Super Flea held a really weird place in the hearts of many Buffalonians. The place was a dump, smelled awful, and sold some of the more useless items you have ever come across, yet I loved the place, and from the comments on FB during its final weekend, you all did too. So leave it to Buffalo spokesman and wordsmith Jack Topht to film a video for his Teen Wolf produced throw-back jam, “Beef on Weck,” on the Super Flea lot on its last weekend. The clip finds Topht and[...]

Dr. Ooo Premieres New Malt Disney Directed Clip

One of the blog’s favorite Buffalo MCs, the now Brooklyn residing Dr. Ooo (or Drew Aintworriedboutnuthin Hartman to his friends), has released the new music video for his track “Comfy.” Directed by Malt Disney, frequent collaborator of the Toats Orig Crew and Jact Toft, the clip finds Hartman strolling around Chinatown channeling his inner foodie and hitting up some markets. The track appears to be a part of an upcoming project called Canary Yellow, so keep your eyes peeled for further details. You can watch “Comfy” below.
