Jack Topht and TEENWOLF Release Timely Collab

#FeeltheBern fever has apparently hit Allentown’s most prolific wordsmith, Jack Topht. In honor of tonight’s Democratic debate, rap collaborators Topht and DJ TEENWOLF have teamed up yet again after working on various projects together over the past few years. This time around, the two have joined forces to drop the well timed track “bernie sanders terry p shit.” Much like in the past, Topht gains great inspiration from the political landscape (see “Free Gay Abortions,” “Liberal Elite,” “Go Back to Russia”), and continues to make witty observations in his signature comical style, while maintaining his status of most-amount-of-Buffalo-culture-dropper per track with references to Cafe Taza, Tim Horton’s, and First Niagara. No word on whether Sanders will enter the debate podium to the Topht/TEENWOLF jam, so just in case, listen below.

Tonight: Queen Majesty

Known for her extensive knowledge of Jamaican music, Brooklyn-based (and Buffalo native) DJ Queen Majesty has been collecting reggae vinyl for over twenty years and selecting tunes at venues around the world, showcasing the island nation’s rich musical culture. Having hosted the “Deadly Dragon Sounds” show on East Village Radio in New York for six years, she has an ear for both classic tunes and rising talent in dancehall, reggae, and dub. Tonight, Queen Majesty will headline Heat Wave at Allen Street Hardware. Setting up shop in the back room, Queen Majesty will team up with DJ Universal for a 3 + hour block of reggae. Teenwolf will take things over with classic jams til close while Hardware regulars Sike and Dovey will man the front room until last call. Music begins at 8:30pm with a cover of $5. The lineup consists of local hip-hop producer, Cove, mashup extraordinaire Teenwolf, electronic visual artist, Projex, and front room regular, Camaican Sensation. All in all, this is a great opportunity to show off all those dance moves you’ve been practicing while snowed in this winter. Get there around 10pm and the doors are $5. Just Announced: Heavy Rotation – Back To School Dance

The fall semester is quickly approaching, which means to many of us (not me, I am sadly 30), summer is nearing its inevitable end. We thought we could help ease the pain of returning to the books by finally having our second go-around of our Heavy Rotation dance party series. We debuted our first installment last fall as part of the Elmwood Village’s annual Mass Appeal event at the Pierce Arrow, and for this time around, we are taking over the back room of Hardware to showcase some of our favorite area DJs with our very own back-to-school dance. On Friday, September 12th, join us as Chauncey Tails, DJ Pizza Pizza, and Teenwolf will man the back while Rick Jameson (Spooky Sean of Spooky Business) will loosen everyone up as he gets things going in the front room. Heavy Rotation: Back To School Dance is a 21+ event. Music kicks[...]
