Hotel Etiquette x Gatto Black –I Want to Help You Meet God / Kiss Me with Your Eyes Closed

What happens when two of Buffalo’s most emotive and enduring bands get together? What else – they make a split. Gatto Black and Hotel Etiquette are teaming up for a split (which is still a few months away), but luckily, they have each released the first single from each side. For Gatto Black’s offering, Sal Mastrocola opts for chant-along skate punk, not unlike the dark offerings found on his most recent LP, Sky Is Blue. Hotel Etiquette’s Mike Hansen opts for a sub-two-minute wall-of-guitars that starts out sounding emo and ends up sounding heavy as fuck. It’s a perfect pairing both band-wise and song-wise and we can’t wait to hurt ourselves emotionally by listening to the full thing when it comes out early next year.

 

The SPLIT, which will feature four (4) songs from each band, is due out in February of 2027. Triple Hammer Records is to thank for this one – a limited run of 100 copies, making this ultra-collectible. Until then, both singles can be found on all streaming services.
