Here’s a sweet and somber one from Baltimore singer/songwriter Hannah Lee Thompson. “Danny” is a slow, chorus-less crescendo carried by Thompson’s endearing vocals that she layers thick with emotions, predominantly pain. “Danny’s” instrumental backing is equally pained, full of nuance and dynamics, all the while sounding barely-held-together.
