Woodes – “Euphoria”

Every now and then we like to dip our toes into some pure, refreshing pop – and this latest one from Australian singer/songwriter Woodes was just the thing to quench our thirst. “Euphoria” is unabashed in its pop approach – big 90s-pop instrumentals lay the framework for Woodes’ lilting vocal delivery. Even better, this one comes replete with a Lord-of-the-Rings/Fantasy music video with… Get this – choreographed elves. It’s best seen for yourself – check it out below.

June Pageant – “Guess We’ll Never Live There (feat. Edward Phillips)”

Loving this lo-fi dreampop collab between Edward Phillips and June Pageant. This one is built on a tasty Casio-inspired beat, layered tastefully with spiraling guitar sirens and a driven bass backbone. This one feels fidgety and energetic without ever losing it’s dreaminess, plus, it’s got a killer chorus – fans of Castlebeat or Say Hi would dig this one for sure. Check it out below. Thor Rixon – “Why Don’t You Love Me”

There’s something ultra-sexy about this new jam from Thor Rixon – “Why Don’t You Love Me” is a super-smooth indie pop jam with strong funk, soul, and nu-disco vibes. Loving the campy vibes that came through in the music video treatment as well – bowling alley chic, breezy beach scenes, and Thor’s undeniable aesthetic are all very pleasant on the eyes. This one is bound to worm its way into your head – check it out below or add it to your Spotify playlist for best results.

Rah-C – “For the Holiday”

Rah-C‘s new video for “For the Holiday” is a truly psychedelic experience – disclaimer: this one might be a trigger for some of our more photosensitive viewers, so watch at your own risk. Beyond the swirly trippiness of the music video, “Holiday” is an almost-otherworldly chillwave jam. The sugary melodies and frantic synth backdrop here sounds like synthpop on ecstasy, in a good way, of course. Rah-C has crafted a jam that is bound to put you in a good mood – check it out below and check this link for more listening options.

Reptilians – “The Modern Harrison Bergeron”

UK trio Reptilians are here with the uber-urgent post-punk vibes of “The Modern Harrison Bergeron.” A breakneck tempo, spiraling guitar leads, and overdriven-bass-madness propel this one forward like the blistering ball of energy it is. There’s a bit of punky METZ flavor here mixed with some darker Interpol sentiment, but this is one banger best experienced for yourself. Check it out below and be sure to swing by their Spotify too. Dunebug – “Impossible With You”

Ultimate chill-out vibes here from UK solo-act Dunebug – “Impossible With You” is surfy and subtle with a tasteful flavoring of retro 50s rock. This one would sit comfortably on a shelf next to Best Coast, Soccer Mommy, or even a Beach Boys record… Somber and sweet, “Impossible” is full of vibey nuance like swept guitar strums and vocal ah-ahhhs drenched in reverb. Check it out below or swing by her Spotify for more. Dunebug · Impossible With You

Slowsie – “Sunrise”

Liking this one from power trio Slowsie – “Sunrise” is a great, guitar-driven banger, borrowing the slightest tinge of Strokes-esque charm, pairing it with surfy riffs, and making it all their own. The big bass energy and slacker-rock vocal delivery help to take this one to the next level. “Sunrise” is a part of Slowsie’s latest EP, Late at Night. Check it out via Soundcloud below or add it to your Spotify playlist if that’s more your speed. Slowsie · Sunrise

Western Maude – “Cracking”

“Cracking” is one of those ultimate chill-out songs. Western Maude‘s presence here sounds like a vintage AM radio – it lays like a fragile artifact over a metaphorical sea of hypnotic indie-electro elements. There’s something about the watery synths laying in a hazy fog overtop the plodding bassline in this one that we can’t help but love. Check it out below or swing by Maude’s Spotify for a full discography.

Aunt Daddy – “Get My Way”

“Get My Way” by Oregon act Aunt Daddy is frantic, but sweet. It has subtly surfy vibes, with tinges of emo and alt-country. “How is that possible,” you might ask (don’t worry, we’ll tell you). In most cases, it’s best just to listen for yourself… But between the charming vocal delivery, neurotically breakneck drumming, and the yawning slide-y guitar flourishes, Aunt Daddy has really nailed an excellent juxtaposition of genres and mashed them all into an endearing bedroom-production package. We’re feeling this one for sure – check it out on Bandcamp below or swing by Spotify to add it to your playlist. The Pink Cliffs EP by Aunt Daddy

Golden Vessel – “midwest”

Here’s a simmering indielectro jam from Australian solo-act Golden Vessel. The evening vibes of “midwest” invoke imagery of fleeting towns, rent-a-cars, and cross-country trips to clear the mind… Its no wonder this one would sound best as streetlights fly past, with just the subtle glow of blurry neon lights illuminating your dashboard. Check it out below – if you’re feeling it, Vessel has provided a helpful link for listening on many platforms. Golden Vessel · midwest

Spirit of the Bear – “Summer Snow”

Northeastern Ohio quintet Spirit of the Bear are really popping off with their unique blend of indie, nu-disco, and synth elements… Our pick is “Summer Snow,” which feels smooth af – an indie rocker with tinges of r&b, funk, and electronica blended into something all their own. Beyond that, the five-piece are looking comfy and vintage in their well-produced music video, conveniently located in the widget below. If you like this one as much as we did, be sure to check it out on Spotify as well.

Marsha Marsha Marsha – “I Like You”

Marsha Marsha Marsha have an upbeat one on their hands with their latest jam, “I Like You.” Utilizing big dancy drumbeats and a happily bouncy acoustic guitar riff, this one is reminiscent of The Front Bottoms with a sunny, Australian twist. There’s something to be said about infectious hooks, simple hooks about love, and a bright disposition – it certainly works for MMM. Check it out below and if you dig it, be sure to swing by their Spotify. Marsha Marsha Marsha · I Like You

Aaron Taos – “Control (Remix) feat. Lonely God & Huron John”

“Control” feels like a big contradiction. It’s a bedroom-pop jam with great production. It’s a remix with three contributors that somehow sounds totally cohesive. It’s a slacker-esque jam with tons of tasty synth layers and genre-mashing… And we love it for its many can’t-quite-put-our-finger-on-it qualities. Where do Aaron Taos, Lonely God, and Huron John start and end?! We may never know… But we think you’ll enjoy their phat collab regardless. Check it out below – it’s also available on Spotify. Goldmyth – “My Mistake”

It’s not every day you see a harpist write a super chill indie pop song… But here we are with Goldmyth and her latest jam, “My Mistake.” Propelled by a gentle harp melody and Goldmyth’s haunting vocals, “Mistake” is equal parts baroque and melancholy bedroom-pop. Fans of Phoebe Bridgers, Soccer Mommy, or Jay Som will dig this one for sure. If you like what you hear in the video below, swing by her Spotify and add it to your playlist.

yep – “Breakup Sex”

We’ll let new synthpop collective yep introduce themselves: yep is an assembly of producers and songwriters who have multiple Grammy wins and nominations among them. For now, the members are opting to remain anonymous. This mysterious act came out swinging with “Breakup Sex,” a hooky, hazy synthpop swirl that highlights the honest, not-so-pure aspect of breaking up. Rather than focus on heartache, the band yearned to make something fun and honest… We think they hit the mark. There are lots of ways to consume “Breakup Sex” – check them all out here. yep · Breakup Sex
