Tristan Turdean – 5 SONGS TO GET OVER YOU

Tristan Turdean aims to tug at our collective heartstrings with a brand new breakup EP that traverses all the different stages of grief… From denial all the way through acceptance (we omitted anger, bargaining, and the all-encompassing depression, but Tristan sure didn’t), 5 SONGS TO GET OVER YOU is a nu-age pop-punk journey that aims to assault all of your senses with powerful musical compositions, heart-on-your-sleeve vocals, and excellent production.
Normally we’d start with the opening song, but we’re giving our nod for album favorite to album closer, “Leave You In The Past.” While the rest of the EP is an incredible ride, there is something special about hearing Tristan’s acceptance of his situation. Especially since, as per his words: “This project is about feeling everything, surviving it, and moving forward stronger.” on “Leave You In The Past,” Tristan delivers vocals that are restrained yet emotionally resonant, while the instrumentation tiptoes between melancholy and energized. “Remind Me When You Return” is a close runner up for album fav with its stabs of explosive guitar noise and neurotic hi-hat riding.
Incredibly, the project is more than just an emotionally charged EP – Tristan’s releasing music videos for each of the tracks, creating a short film that give a much-welcomed visual representation to this already cathartic journey… And while the songs were already connected conceptually by their lyrical content, this is the cherry-on-top that truly makes this EP an all-encompassing sensory experience. A new song from the EP will be released in the order of the stages of grief every Friday at 12pm until the whole EP is released August 1st.
5 SONGS TO GET OVER YOU is out August 1st, 2025. Until then, get a taste for the EP via the music videos embedded below.
