Well Kept Things – Weathered For Better

Buffalo emo-rock outfit, Well Kept Things, has an interesting history. The group got traction in the local scene with well-loved releases in 2015 and 2016, before they ended up shelving the band for seven years. Check out this older post from 2015 about the band in their early days. It seemed unlikely that the group would ever get back together, but when one of the members, Kody Fintak, moved back to the Buffalo area, the Well Kept Things spark was back in full effect. After this long period of inactivity, the group returned with a release, Weathered For Better, on December 14th. The intro “Pick Scratch” is heartfelt, goofy, and catchy, three common ingredients that make up many great emo tunes. Fresh super group Super American will take over Dreamland this evening. Equal parts defunct Thick Winter Blud (a name in and of itself a WKT reference) and I Can See Mountains, they are set to be your new favorite Buffalo Brand New worshipers as they celebrate the impending release of Golf Pop. These bros can be pop or glum and you never know which side you’re gonna get. If I believed in guilty pleasures (because why feel guilty about the things you like?) Well Kept Things’ pop punk would be mine. Along with Wild Things, the band is acting as support as Super American releases some tunes off a new album. Popular opinion has confirmed that all cool and hippest creative efforts are born out of a city setting as all talented, accomplished individuals are garrison to that particular community. Allow for me to introduce you to semi-fresh indie/punk outfit, Well Kept Things, composed of members who have cultivated themselves straight down the 219 in the Springville/Delevan area(s). Well Kept Things Sign to Antique Records, Release First Single

The Buffalo pop-punk/emo scene is still smarting from the loss of bands like I Can See Mountains and All Blondes Go To Heaven. If you’ve been unsure of where to get your next fix, Well Kept Things is where you should look next. The quartet specializes in passionate pop-punk, with lyrics falling somewhere between neurosis and a heart-on-your-sleeve confessional. The Buffalo-based four piece has recently inked a deal with Antique Records, and will be releasing its debut EP, Homegrown, in both digital and in 7″ formats on June 16th.
