The Golden Age of TV – “Me, You And a Dog”

This is a cool one – Leeds act The Golden Age of TV whipped up a rip-roaring single that they’ve titled “Me, You, And a Dog.” Big guitar riffs and a tight, compressed mix give this one a big, bombastic sound. There’s a bit of Los Campesinos! in this one, a bit of Hop Along, and a whole lot of loud, indie rock energy. Better yet – “Dog” is about the joy of getting a new pet with someone special… A subtle way to say you want to spend the next 10+ years together. Check it out below for sure.

The Golden Age of TV – “Beast”

UK band The Golden Age of TV are back with yet another rousing single, this one aptly titled “Beast.” This track conjures images of a Florence & the Machine/St. Vincent sonic lovechild, highlighting frontwoman Bea Fletcher’s powerhouse vocals and adding a bit of bite with some guitar-laden distortion. It centers on the idea of struggling to overcome fear in its most primal form. There’s an underlying force that gradually bursts into the forefront towards the end of the track, all the while accenting the band’s technical abilities and driving ambition. The Golden Age of TV – “Dust”

Hailing from across the pond in Leeds, the alt-rock five-piece The Golden Age of TV gives their take on nostalgic rumination in their recent release, “Dust.” Through a spunky mix of power-pop vocals, grungy guitars, rhythmic synth lines, and a groove-driven bass, the band takes on the tried and true tale of clinging onto old memories that may seem better than they actually were. Guitarist Ryan Bird further unpacks this; “Dust is about someone who is sabotaging the good memories from the past relationship. It’s very sarcastic in tone, as it’s such an upbeat song, yet the lyrics are from the perspective of someone battling to hang on to the happier times.
