Against Me! at the Town Ballroom (10/05/17)

Last week, scene vets Against Me! returned to Buffalo for another unforgettable show. This was the their second time in Buffalo since the release of their latest LP, Shape Shift With Me, and they dropped a new 7″ earlier this year, featuring two killer new tracks, “Sabbitha Christie” and “First High Of The Morning.” The Dirty Nil and Bleached kicked the night off, setting up the perfect high enegery atmosphere to get the crowd ready for Against Me. Their setlist was nuts, 27 songs spanning their entire catalog, which included two covers, “Running Down a Dream” by Tom Petty and “The Best Ever Death Metal Band in Denton” by The Mountain Goats. They ended the night right with a jam packed five song encore, the perfect end to a stellar gig. Check out some photos from the show below, shot by blog photographer, Brendan O’Connor. Tonight: Against Me!

Punk all-stars, Against Me! are making their way tonight to the Town Ballroom (change of venue from the Waiting Room) for what’s going to be an incredibly special night for fans of the band, and those into the scene Against Me! have been pioneering for almost over 20 years. The band are still going with just as much strength as when they started. Last September, the band released their seventh LP, Shape Shift with Me, which takes off from where they last left off. Their new outing doesn’t venture far off from what fans love to hear, but brings a little lightness and fun into the mix. On tour with Against Me! are LA’s Bleached, a punk trio with a touch of bouncy pop aesthetic and out of Canada, The Dirty Nil. Doors are set for 7pm and it’s $25 are the door.

Tonight: Meat Wave

Tonight might turn out to be quite a raucous Wednesday… Actually, I take that back. Tonight’s officially gonna get pretty rowdy. The Dirty Nil and Meat Wave will be stopping through the Waiting Room tonight; both bands will be slinging their brand of loud, aggressive, indie-punk. If you would like a comparison, both bands are contemporaries of METZ, Pissed Jeans, Single Mothers, or even Cloud Nothings. Opening the show are the Rochester-based post-hardcore/screamo dudes in DRUSE and the Fredonia-based alt-rockers in Ellsworth. Tickets are $12 and doors open at 6pm.
