Prince Daddy & the Hyena – I Thought You Didn’t Even Like Leaving

Do you like Bomb The Music Industry!? Do you like PUP? Do you like Weezer?  Do you like WEED? If you answered any of those questions, you should probably go put on I Thought You Didn’t Even Like Leaving by Prince Daddy & The Hyena.  Hailing from Albany, NY, the four piece has been ripping it up in the DIY circuit since the release of their two tapes, Skip Cutscenes! Blow Loud! and Adult Summers, which we loved. After signing with emo super label of sorts, Broken World Media, the group really started picking up speed. Simply put, I Thought You Didn’t Even Like Leaving somehow pulls off being a total fucking blast, while still tugging at the heartstrings. From the driving title track to the all too easy to relate to album closer, Really?, P Daddy takes no breaks. Prince Daddy & The Hyena Release New Music Video

Albany troublemakers Prince Daddy & The Hyena just released a tour-footage video of their song, “***Hidden Track***.” The video is pretty hilarious, featuring some of the best moments from their recent tour with their fellow emos in oso oso. In case you aren’t familiar with P Daddy, they sound a lot like an impossibly raucous combination of Atom and His Package, Andrew WK, and The Hotelier. “***Hidden Track***” is the last song on Prince Daddy & The Hyena’s latest release, Adult Summers, out now via Broken World Media. The “pay what you want” rate is an incredible deal – make sure you swing by and give it a download.

While he didn’t have a chance to shoot any major national touring acts, he took the time to photograph some local Buffalo acts, and went out on a little weekend tour with local post- rock outfit Tomoreaux. On tour, he caught some incredible acts such as Albany’s existential goth poppers Slowshine,  Rochester lo-fi duo Buffalo Sex Change, and the stellar up-and-coming pop punk young guns Prince Daddy and the Hyena. In addition, Brendan made a couple trips out to Fredonia where he also had the chance to shoot buffaBLOG favorites, M.A.G.S. and Sixties Future, as well as Fredonia psych-rockers Mooses. To kick the post off, though, we’ll start off with one of Yace Booking’s best events to date, which served as Tomoreaux’s album release party, featuring Cooler, Passed Out, and Brimstone Blondes.  You can click HERE for a[...]
