Pizzagirl – “Dennis”

Alright, alright, we admit it… We’re Pizzagirl fanatics. “Dennis” is the latest offering from this multi-talented multi-instrumentalist from Liverpool – it’s full of funky vibes, driven by a quirky, chorus-soaked guitar and even quirkier lyrics. Tastefully kitschy, totally hooky, and fully danceable, we think you’ll enjoy “Dennis” for sure – check it out below.

Pizzagirl – “Gymnasium”

Pizzagirl is no stranger to the blog – in fact, we’ve covered his songs thrice already. This time around, we’re lauding the fantastic “Gymnasium.” Full of pan flute samples and 80s-inspired drum machine percussion, Pizzagirl channels the late 2010s aesthetic of Porches or Clairo with the 80s pop sentiment of Phil Collins. Peep it for yourself below. Check out all the fresh merch Pizzagirl has to offer here.

Pizzagirl – “Seabirds”

Pizzagirl’s new track “Seabirds” is a serene gift from the multi-talented Liverpool lad who goes by the aforementioned pseudonym. It’s an endlessly fun and listenable but emotional guided journey through a 1980s-influenced soundscape. However, like every intuitive descendent of that culture, Pizzagirl manages to capture something fresh, as the song’s echoing vocals and fresh, shimmying production sound brilliantly transcendent. Pizzagirl’s debut EP An Extended Play was released on Friday via the independent label Heist or Hit.

Pizzagirl – “Coffee Shop”

Liverpool-based electronic act Pizzagirl’s new jam “Coffee Shop” is a retro-soul delight to say the least. It possesses a chorus as infectious as it is simple, a trademark of that late ‘70s disco scene that alienated some in a heartbeat and attracted others at the same time. However, with a fresh, indie-tinged take on that wave of influence, it likely won’t steer many if any listeners away. In fact, beyond the attraction of listening to it with virgin ears, repeated listens are highly rewarding. It’s a challenge not to sing along once you catch on to the lyrics, or at least dance to it if you’re not ashamed of letting loose. Pizzagirl’s upcoming EP, fittingly titled An Extended Play and written, recorded and produced entirely by the artist in his home, is due out April 13.

Pizzagirl – “Favourite Song”

“For best results, listen in 1987 at night…” Pizzagirl nailed it on the self-reflection when referring to his latest single, “Favourite Song.” Beyond the warm bedroom-pop vibes, “Favourite Song” has an instantly recognizable chorus utilizing plenty of “do-do-dos.” Not to mention the irresistibly retro vibes that propel the song. Fans of 80s synthpop or emotional lo-fi jams should surely give it a listen below. If “Favourite Song” is your new favorite song, peep some listening options here.
