oddnesse – “Hot Air”

Here’s a cool indie rocker from LA-based oddnesse. At its onset, “Hot Air” finds the singer/songwriter playing with abstract lyrical concepts and dreamy guitar riffs to create something lilting and soothing in the dream-pop vein. Mid-song, oddnesse switches to something a bit more hypnotic and jammy, alternating to a psych-tinged rhythmic pulse with distorted guitars and a tasteful shaker. This one is a great listen all the way through – check it out below or visit her Spotify. oddnesse · Hot Air

oddnesse – “Summer’s Almost Over”

Indie-pop artist oddnesse has delivered an appropriately titled new track “Summer’s Almost Over” just before the season turns over. The wistful number is a nice addition to the post-chillwave cannon as slinky guitar lines and warm synths give the single a soothing retro vibe.  Fans of acts like TOPS and Springtime Carnivore should all hear something that they dig in the track. “Summer’s Almost Over” is just another highlight in what has been a rather busy year for oddnesse. Keep up with the act’s output on Spotify and in the meantime, check out the single below. oddnesse · Summer’s Almost Over

Oddnesse – “Are You Down”

Combining a seeping groove with silky smooth vocals, Oddnesse sets their standard for new love with “Are You Down.” What started as an in-studio collaboration amongst L.A. transplants became a newly forged duo with haunting pop sensibilities and storied music careers under their belts. With Rebeca Arango on vocals and Grey Goon heading up production, “Are You Down” takes on a sultry feel that is all together unhurried but dripping with emotion, akin to a Lana Del Rey serenade. Driven by meddling guitar lines, arresting vocal harmonies, and polished up with a shiny coat of reverb, this is the kind of track that speaks volumes even without the help of lyrics. Take in the magic that is Oddnesse below.
