Tonight: Minus the Bear

Angular masterminds / mid-aught mainstays Minus the Bear return to Town Ballroom this evening to celebrate the tenth anniversary of their 2007 album Planet of Ice.  Tonight’s show will feature the band playing Planet of Ice in it’s entirety, as well as select hits from the bands expansive portfolio. The Seattle-based quartet achieved initial success with their first EP album, Highly Refined Pirates, which connected with college radio stations.  Planet of Ice was the band’s third studio release and breakout release, charting on BIllboard. Since then, the band has released three more full lengths and toured extensively in support of both their new material and themed anniversary tours. Show up early, don’t bring a bottle/blanket as there will be plenty of red wine available at the bar and space is limited. Opening up the night are gritty Atlanta-based garage rockers The Coathangers. Doors at 7pm with a $29 cover. Planet Of Ice by[...]

Minus the Bear at the Town Ballroom (03/30/17)

This past Thursday, legendary indie/math rock group Minus the Bear played an awesome show at the Town Ballroom.  They played a career spanning set, touching on most of the past albums, as well as playing multiple cuts from the solid new release, VOIDS.   Bayonne and Beach Slang were featured as openers on the tour.  While all bands differed sonically, the eclectic lineup came together for a super memorable show.  Check out some photos from the awesome night below. Closing it all out will be the legendary indie / math rock act Minus the Bear.  Following some anniversary tours, the band finally got back together to record new material after five years, and it payed off.  They’re sure to be playing through multiple new songs off VOIDS, as well as material off of their older records. Tickets are still available for the[...]
