Moose Blood at the Town Ballroom (04/17/18)

Earlier this week, UK pop punk four piece, Moose Blood, made their way back to Buffalo.   They seemed to make the best of Tuesday’s mediocre weather, drawing a sizable crowd. They played a pretty even split of songs between all three of their major records, and the die hard fans in the crowd seemed to love every minute of it.  Indie/emo veterans Lydia also made their first Buffalo appearance in quite some time, debuting a lot of their newer pop oriented material, along with a couple older cult classics.  Buffalo’s own Marigold kicked things off with a solid set, following a tour cancellation from McCafferty.   Check out some photos from the night below, shot by blog photographer, Brendan O’Connor. Tonight: Lydia

Yet again, another stacked indie/emo lineup will be hitting Waiting Room tonight. Indie veterans Lydia will be bringing their “Run Wild” tour to Buffalo in support of their new album of the same name. Support for the show includes Seahaven and Turnover, as well as the Technicolors. Both Seahaven and Turnover have recently changed their sounds from a more pop/punk related one to a far more distant and dreamy variety, and far more indie in nature. Tickets will be available at the door for $17, and doors are set to open at 7pm, with music starting at 7:20pm.  All ages are admitted, but under 16 need a guardian, as usual.

Tonight: The Early November

These damn bands from 2004-06 keep going on such great tours… Tonight you can catch a few forerunners of 2000s emo at Waiting Room. The Early November will be here slinging its older, Drive Thru-brand of passionate pop-punk (“Ever So Sweet” and “I Want to Hear You Sad” immediately come to mind), as well as some newer, polished pop-rock tunes. Joining them this evening are the ever-ethereal Lydia (“This is Twice Now” comes to mind) and Restorations’ Gaslight Anthem-y jams. The show is $17 bucks and doors are at 7pm. All ages too, in case any underage readers are scoping out the blog.
