Loose Buttons – “I Saw Jon Hamm At The Beach”

NY based indie rockers Loose Buttons brings us a new track, “I Saw Jon Hamm at the Beach” released January 11. Based on an actual story of seeing Jon Hamm swimming, in what could easily turn into an extended phallic joke, instead turns into a surprisingly introspective track. Speaking to the fortuitous sighting, front man Eric Nizgretsky had this to say: “It was one of those idyllic beach days — the sky blue, the air just right. And then, out of the corner of my eye, the man himself Jon Hamm. There he was, a perfect ‘symbol of the ideal man’ who, in reality, was just simply another beachgoer, casually playing kadima and sharing the day with his loved ones. As a huge fan of his work, seeing him out there, just being a regular dude, felt wonderfully refreshing. The whole experience debunked the ‘leading man’ facade I’ve often attributed[...]

Loose Buttons – “What’s On Outside”

Conquering a cold concept with style, the New York four-piece band known as Loose Buttons brought the title track of their sophomore album What’s On Outside to the big screen. The five-minute motion picture shows Loose Buttons righteously performing their unique guitar-pop in their natural habitat. “What’s On Outside” speaks to those who have lost something or someone and struggled to save themselves, which I think is a lot of us. Loose Buttons provide that second half missing from your glass whether it’s half full or empty. This isn’t the first time we’ve dug a Loose Buttons song either – check out “First to Know, Last to Understand” too. Check it out on YouTube below:

Loose Buttons – “First To Know, Last To Understand”

Loose Buttons has felt a little stagnant these last 18 months… Haven’t we all? Their latest slice of guitar-pop, “First To Know, Last To Understand,” reckons with those feelings of stagnation – pondering what the best version of ourselves is, chasing after it, and coming to terms with falling down before the finish line. They do it via this unique approach to pop-punk; think twinkly guitars, unique chord progressions, and a peppy tempo. We like this one – if you like it too, be sure to add it to your Spotify playlist. Keep an eye out for Loose Buttons’ upcoming sophomore LP, What’s On Outside, due out October 22.
