Pitchfork Music Festival at Union Park (7/14/17)

In it’s 12th year, Pitchfork Music Festival continued to prove its longevity, boasting three sold out days and another jam packed, stellar lineup. Thousands flocked to Union Park in Chicago, making this year what seemed like the most crowded the festival has been in our three years of coverage. With another incredible year filled with countless memorable moments in the books, we take a look back at the weekend through the lens of our blog photographer, Brendan O’Connor. Take a look at some photos from Friday below, featuring Priests, Dawn Richard, Hiss Golden Messenger, Vince Staples, Frankie Cosmos, Danny Brown, Kamaiyah, Dirty Projectors, and LCD Soundsystem. Stay tuned for more photos from the weekend throughout the week. Priests Dawn Richard Hiss Golden Messenger Vince Staples Frankie Cosmos Danny Brown Kamiayah  Dirty Projectors LCD Soundsystem

buffaBLOG is elated to announce that we will be covering the Pitchfork Music Festival for the third year in a row. The festival takes place at Union Park in Chicago, and we are sending blog photographer, Brendan O’Connor, to capture all of the action. The festival will take place July 14th through July 16th and will be headlined by LCD Soundsystem, A Tribe Called Quest, and Solange, with dozens of other amazing performers sprinkled across the weekend.  In anticipation of the festival, here are the five acts we are most excited to see on Friday.  You can check out Brendan’s photos from last year HERE, HERE, and HERE. Priests @ the Green Stage, 1:45pm Priests played their only Buffalo show back in 2014 at the Glitterbox, and anyone in attendance at that show knows why they made this list. Tonight: Lazlo Hollyfeld & Friends Play LCD Soundsystem

Tonight as everyone gets all spooked up and dressed for Halloween. Some notable Buffalo bands will be doing the same. Starting the night, emo singalong all-star group, Girl Jeans to the stage. Complete with guyliner and lip rings, they’ll bring all your favorite My Chemical Romance and Brand New songs back to life and make them sound way better than they have any right to. Following that, brace yourself, as Lazlo Hollyfeld tackle not one, but two full sets of one of the greatest artists of the 21st century, LCD Soundsystem. With many of us missing the actual band on their recent (and far too short) reunion tour, this is the perfect chance to catch all your favorite modern classics; from “All My Friends” to “Daft Punk is Playing At My House.” If there’s one shindig to get properly spooked to this Halloween, this is the one. Doors open at[...]

Just Announced: Lazlo Hollyfeld & Friends Play LCD Soundsystem

It’s never too early to plan for Halloween. With Every Time I Die set to hit the road for the spooky season, we had to put our annual Soul Patch Halloween bash on hold for the year and look elsewhere for our yearly rager. In comes Lazlo Hollyfeld. The long time experimental rockers, fresh off tackling Radiohead’s In Rainbows and then some this spring and summer, will next take on the catalog of DFA heavyweights LCD Soundsystem on Friday, October 28th at Mohawk Place. The legendary dance-punk group triumphantly returned to the festival stages this year, and with a new album in the works, it seemed hitting for the Buffalo band to dive into James Murphy and crew’s collection of tracks. Joining the Lazlo crew will be tribute band Girl Jeans. Led by Humble Braggers’ Tom Burtless, the fresh-to-the-scene cover group will cover all of your favorite emo/screamo/scenester hits of the past.[...]
