Tonight: Orations

Buffalo’s Mr. Goodbar (Upstairs) is showing off the local goods tonight with a can’t-miss show featuring different shades of punk supplied by Buffalo’s finest. The stellar line-up includes the supremely talented, Orations, who will be performing their fantastic post-punk head nodders and toe-tappers. Expect an earful of jangling guitar riffs, punk-driven drums and Jess Collins’s beautifully resonant, mockingbird vocals. If you haven’t had the pleasure of listening to Orations, see them live tonight and walk away their biggest fan. Also taking the stage, the floor, the walls, the ceiling and your personal space, are punk rockers, Gun Candy. With a rough and tumble sound backed up by a rowdy performance this mixed 4-piece will get in your face for what promises to be a hell of a set. Rounding out the bill are schizophrenic anti-genre, Soul Butchers, and indie grungers Nylon Otters. This is a Buffalo show through and through,[...]

Tonight: Mallwalkers

With doors opening at 6pm and music at 7pm (sharp) you can pack up the whole crew and see what’s going on at Sugar City while thrilling to the punk shenanigans of the 9 member local gang known as Mallwalkers; who will be joined by sharp indie rocker M.A.G.S., punk rock warriors Gun Candy and Trinkit, twee pop minimalists Welk’s Mice, and Pat Kewley, who will be doing stuff. Because it’s an all ages space Sugar City is a drug and alcohol free space, so please, do all that at home. There might be some punk rock loving families present!

Tonight: Alpha Hopper LP Release Show

Dreamland is most defintely going to be the place to be tonight.   Everyone’s favorite post punk freakers, Alpha Hopper, are finally releasing their LP tonight, and to celebrate, are having a stacked release show at Dreamland.  It is pretty tough to describe Alpha Hoppers unique sound, so you’re probably better off getting to the show and seeing for yourself.  The new full length, Last Chance Power Drive, is getting a physical vinyl release as well, which should be for sale at the show. The show will feature support from local heavy hitters, Space is Haunted, Trinkt, and Gun Candy. Doors open at Dreamland at 7pm, and with only a $5 cover, I can’t find a a better reason for you to go and celebrate what is sure to be one of the best Buffalo releases this year.
