Stray Fossa – “Never Rest For Good”

Based out of Germany, the European three piece Stray Fossa slid by and dropped a gem in our pockets. Their newest song, “Never Rest For Good,” is just shy of five minutes which in terms of running time, I like that a lot more than a two to three minute song (as long as the song is fire of course); Stray Fossa settled for nothing but. Not only did they deliver us music but they gave us a video behind it. Much like the compilation of nature/skating in MONOWHALES’ video for the “New Threads” visual, Stray Fossa gave us something similar with a darker, colder, and more abstract ambience. With their third single “Never Rest For Good” Stray Fossa is gearing up to drop their LP, Closer Than We’ll Ever Know, on June 3rd. Roller Derby – “Starry Eyed”

Coming all the way from Hamburg, Germany, surfy post-punk trio Roller Derby have the world harking to their latest work “Starry-Eyed.” This hypnotic .wav file is about as transcendent as the deep blue eye featured on the single’s cover art. The motion picture of “Starry-Eyed” premiered on March 4th of 2022 and is one of the trippiest video I’ve seen to date. Before watching, I closed my eyes and visualized what the song would look like on video and Roller Derby exceeded the expectations of my imagination; see the psychedelic magic of “Starry-Eyes” for yourself. Faire Écho – Child of Rage

Before the break, I mentioned that going into the new year buffaBLOG would be keeping you up to date on every new and exciting voice in local music. So it’s after eagerly waiting 30 long days that I can finally share with you one of those voices; Faire Écho. Faire Écho is the electronic brainchild of Buffalo native and former Sleepy Haha’s bassist, Derek Sullivan. Now residing in Neu-Ulm, Germany; Sullivan has taken to producing music full-time and the first results are nothing short of breathtaking. Child of Rage is the name of his forthcoming work, a loose concept album based around the destructive power of childhood pain and fear. The album follows a haunting series of vocal samples that thematically ties the work together using what sounds like childhood therapy sessions and chilling eyewitness accounts. While the album itself is still awaiting a release, Sullivan has released a collection[...]
