The last time we checked in with dad sports, they had just released the lighthearted, lowercase bedroom-pop of “nrvs again.” This time, they’ve come out swinging with the fully caps-locked “MANY FACES,” which also embodies many of the same qualities that drew us to them in the first place. With a super nostalgic indie pop sound that also exudes big contemporary energy, we think this one is gonna put you in a great mood. Ottawa’s dad sports specialize in lighthearted bedroom-pop; their latest offering, the quirky “nrvs again” recently caught our ears for its undeniably infectious energy. The video follows a girl as she frolics in solitude – “nrvs” is the perfect accompaniment, with it’s frantic Casio drumbeat and springy riffiness, it’s bound to make you want to jump around as well. Ottawa indie outfit dad sports recently signed with Grand Jury Music following a catchy run of singles shared this spring, and to commemorate the team up, the trio shared the video for dreamy “name & place.” The easy-going track of hazy jangle-pop should immediately grab the attention of fans of Day Wave and the Pains of Being Pure at Heart, acts that seem to tap into the innocent nostalgia that dad sports does so well. The coming-of-age clip certainly owes some inspiration to John Hughes. Check it out below.
