Astral Cloud Ashes – “Moonphase Bloom”

Channel Island, United Kingdom based post-emo outfit Astral Cloud Ashes dropped the first single “Moonphase Bloom,” off their upcoming unnamed album. The single arrives one year after the release of their debut album Too Close to the Noise Floor and will be featured on their next album. The focus was placed more on the studio aspects of the band rather than the live aspects, placing more emphasis on working with a variety of sound engineers. There’s a sense of this effort through the sharpness of the guitars and the clearness of the vocal. If you’re looking for a clean sounding track, Astral Cloud Ashes bring it on “Moonphase Bloom.” Check out “Moonphase Bloom” below via SoundCloud.

Astral Cloud Ashes – “Housing In A Bubble”

Last time we checked in with Astral Cloud Ashes, we were touting their debut “Get Real.” He (Antony Walker to be exact) caught our attention again with his latest alt-rock blitz, “Housing In A Bubble.” Unsurprisingly, the song is about the failures of capitalism and the affordability of housing in both the US and the UK. Preach, Walker! We think fans of Modern Baseball or Against Me! would dig this tune. You can buy Astral Cloud Ashes’ stuff on Bandcamp. Astral Cloud Ashes – “Get Real”

Astral Cloud Ashes is the creative outlet for Antony Walker. The project sounds like the more “intellectual” cousin of The Front Bottoms or Modern Baseball. This one goes out to all the space cadets out there (we use that in a positive light, of course!), as “Get Real” is a fun tune that deals lyrically with issues of memory recall and astral traveling. It’s a sincere guitar-driven tune that frequently changes pace and feel, perfect for the polyrhythm-loving music nerd in us all. Astral Cloud Ashes’ debut LP, Too Close to the Noise Floor, is due out later this summer.
