daste. – “butterfly (so free)”

Australian trio daste. (pronounced “taste” with a d if you’re curious) are here in the middle of the Buffalo winter with a summery new jam called “butterfly (so free).” The song is built around a bedroom-pop inspired drumbeat and fleshed out with breezy acoustic guitars, a pulsing bass presence, and a not-a-care-in-the-world vocal presence that makes us long for warmer days. Despite it’s carefree, dance-y core, the song actually has a deeper meaning – check out what they had to say below:

“At its core, the track is about having trust in the people you love. I’ve heard people say that their partner is uncomfortable when they go out and have fun without them. That’s crazy! You should be able to have full trust and respect for your partner to do whatever makes them happy”

You can find “butterfly (so free)” on Apple Music and Spotify as well.
