War Strings – “All My Little Games”

War Strings, aka Andrew Stogel, hit us hard with the jangly heartwrench of latest single, “All My Little Games.” Jangly chords start this one off and stay constant throughout, while nimble basslines, punchy drums, and vocals dripping with sincerity help to keep that gut punch feeling always present. It’s accompanied by a music video that brings a perfect visual to the song – blurry and confusing, like the emotions that are conjured when one listens to “Games.” About the song, War Strings explains: “All My Little Games’ is about reckoning with heartbreak. Realizing the ‘fixes’ cause more pain.” You can find “All My Little Games” on Spotify or YouTube (below).

War Strings – “My Alien Heart”

War Strings is a cool new LA act whose “My Alien Heart” caught our ears. This one is an interesting electro indie banger that brings to mind Phantogram at their heaviest with a tinge of Radiohead. Pairing huge synthy hits with grindy guitar and bass riffs – the cherry-on-top here is the intensely soaring vocal prowess. We think this one is gonna get your blood pumping with its big, bombastic energy. If you haven’t already, add it to your Spotify playlist.

War Strings – “My Alien Heart”

LA outfit War Strings tee off with their latest raucously cinematic single, “My Alien Heart.” The overall effect is both noisily grating and symphonic, combining the edge of distorted guitars with gossamer suspended strings. Where the chorus is a crashing wave, the verses take a step back, allowing vocal lines to swim into the forefront and build in intensity. As the second in a series of recent single releases, we’re hoping for a similarly fervid follow up from Warstrings in the near future. Until then, find the rest of the band’s discography here.
